Anybody fitted one?

What do you think of the fit and quality?

We've had two Airblade screens and they are always under tension, so looking for an alternative.

Is that the one that has the wee raised edge on the rim to deflect flies from your visor?

I don't think so, no, that sounds more like a flip screen. We're looking at the double bubble one.

I've got a power bronze double bubble on my SV, ( I cant remember if its an airblade one or not I think it might be ) I've been really pleased with it, fitted OK and it looks nice to. Its really good a huge improvement over the standard one and the finish has stood up well to general wear and tear to.

My SV is buried at the back of my garage so I cant really get the bike out, I could take some pics if that helps though ?

Fabrri double bubbles are good, nice finish, good wind protection. However I wouldn't go for the very dark tint, when in a racing crouch on track days I can hardly see through it!

Thanks Fizz, that's very kind of you to offer but we don't want to put you to any trouble. Do you have any old pics of it fitted?

It's good to hear that the fit was good and it stood up to wear and tear though. We can't complain about the finish of our current screen, it's just the fit we're really not happy with.

I have a double bubble on, but I'm going back to standard and try that for a while (the DB was on the bike when I got it). I find with the DB my head gets knocked about quite a lot with the wind buffeting.

The only place where the fit is a little poor is up near where the mirror mounts are its not flush there like the original screen is and theres a small gap, but I just ignore it now !

I've got a couple of pics but they dont show it very well, heres one

Mine is the yellow SV in this pic.

Thanks Fizz:D

Yes, it's the fit by the mirrors that's the problem with ours, but it's so bad in our case it's actually started to crack the screen and the fairing mount holes. Think we'll probably give Powerbronze a try.:D

Tim, we want an iridium screen, and unfortunately, Fabbri don't do those:(

Darren, Pete thinks that the original screen is better in some respects too, but we love the look of an iridium screen:rolleyes:

Can't you get a normal screen in iridium?

I've never seen one. Would be the perfect answer though.

Pete & Lissa

I had a clear double bubble Skidmarx screen on Suzi 1 for many years, perfect fit no such problems as you and others have described. I'm 6'1 and never had the head buffeting problems with the DB.

Cheers Dave. Sadly Skidmarx don't do an Iridium either. Although we are looking for a chrome screen as an option too. :study:

ow do, Lissa the black has a powerbronze airflow DB on it. Admittedly it was already fitted when i got it, but I haven't spotted any probs with the fit..the mirrors and fairings have been on and off.......seems snug as a bug to me. Somewhere there is a thread where Dan_sv said he fitted it perfect. As for riding well I get battered on the yellow one-standard screen, and the DB airflow one is super, and it has been tested for hours at high speeds on the french motorways, apart from a few stone chips its done very well.

Had a double bubble Powerbronze before I crashed it, loved the look and fitted as good as standard. With the DB, the airflow hit my visor, the standard, mid-chest. You take your pick; at least you can crouch under the DB.

i cant rate powerbronze stuff at all, all the things ive had from them seem weak and flimsy.

Well, after several of you have seemed happy with your screens we took the plunge and I've won one on e bay.

We know it's iridium, but not what the predominant colours are, so if it doesn't suit our bike, it'll end up in the For Sale section:D

There is an Airblade Iridium screen on Ebay at the moment but also this dark tint Airblade

One of the pics shows an identical break to both of my Airblades. That's why I want to find an alternative make.

Powerbronze screen should be here by the weekend.

Ok fitted the new Powerbronze Rainbow Iridium today.:D

Much less traumatic than the Airblade. No ominous creakings from the plastics as I tightened up the 4 bolts. The holes matched up near on perfectly.

First product from Powerbronze that I can recommend.

Pics show extra height of bubble over Airblade, colour differences, and the screen fitted.

One thing I liked about the Airblade was that each screen has a unique colour pattern. We looked through the entire stock of a trader at the BMF to get the correct balance of blue and purple, whereas the Powerbronze one is, I suspect, a uniform pattern. Bit too much gold in it for me really, but there you go.

I like it. Suits well sir!!. I just got another airflow off ebay, delivered yesterday. Mint and loverly. My head won't get battered no more on Suzy. Won't make me ride any faster though :-)

Got ours off Ebay too. Direct from Powerbronze. They don't list the Rainbow screen any more it appears.

Might go for the silver one next time.

Lookin good Pete. Looked on fleabay on Sunday for something similar for mine. No such luck only do the 95 versions. It may fit, so will prob try after I have had a few words with Powerbroze to see if they do one for my year, as have used them before and was happy.
