The ones where I am wearing the tribal over suit, that was the first session so really a warm up session, not to mention I was still a little cold from the ride over to Brands.

I'm not sure how far I was leaning over, but from my tyres you can see for sure, that I was leaning quite a ways! Yes my leaning will come, as my speed picks up.

The pics aren't very flattering for sure ... but then to be fair, looking at the lot (http://www.rawaction.co.uk/track/Brands-29-01-08-B-D/), there wasn't a single flattering pic of anyone!! ;)

Oh and what g1t pinched my bike!!! :D (my yella trackbike looks identical to that ... well ok mine looks a bit more of a sh1tter than even that one!!) :D

Yes I did lean my bike over thanks:smt077, (you know some of the comments have annyoned me, it takes alot for me to get that way) but as blue said the photos aren't great, they really didn't catch me in many good places, well I'll probally get some anyway being my first time and all. Also more lean less the contact patch, thus the drive so why would you want to leaning over that much, its slower.

Sorry dude, taking the p155 out of the photo's really, rather than you.:smt056 Looks like the photographer put himself in entirely the wrong position IMHO, catching most people on the straight doesn't make for great shots... If I were you I wouldn't spend money on them. Wait 'til you get some good 'uns to invest in taken by a competent photographer!

One thing tho: You may get less of a contact patch when you lean, but you do still need to lean to get round corners... :smt077

Yeah he was meant to be at clearways catching us all coming out of there, but it seems he missed me totally, coming down from Druids into the left hander, in both places quite well over. Yeah both being camera guys I'm sure we could have taken so awesome photos, but my SLR lacks a long lens, I ain't gonna have cash for that now:( **** out of the photo guy:smt077, hehe lets hope he doesn't follow me around to other tracks.

Like I said guys, that is road bike, which I have to use to get work on, so I was on the side of caution. I'm hoping for Silverstone I will have another ride, which is set right for the track.

Yup leaning around corners is a must, but less time cranked over the better from what I understand, but to compnesent I'm finding rolling the throttle is working, Thanks Ian!

The pics did look painfully slow ... :D

But to be fair some do come out looking slow ...

Ok, so on my 6th lap of my first ever race on my SV I actually got within 0.78 seconds of the MRO (Dynapro) OUTRIGHT lap record (yes I am quite proud of that all things considered - don't care if ppl think I am blowing my own trumpet its a fact :p ) ... anyway, does this look like a photo of a man that was doing that ... I mean given no other information/knowledge but this pic; you wouldn't even think I could get my kneedown let alone having got within 3/4 of a second of being the fastest man EVER (recorded) on an SV round Brands!! ;)

I mean look at this one taken a bit later (the next day) ... I don't look like I am trying at all!!! :D

Also more lean less the contact patch, thus the drive so why would you want to leaning over that much, its slower.

Not quite. Contact patch when cornering is very similar when being upright vs. leaning over. The difference is the forces acting upon the tyre i.e more lateral force on the tyre when leaning over through a corner. The reason to lean is that more lean tightens your line. Carrying more speed will make you take a wider line, unless you lean more to tighten it. So a combination of a higher corner speed and a greater lean angle allows you to carry much more speed through a corner and be faster. The lateral forces on the tyre does compromise the amount of power you can apply, which is why it is good to turn quickly coming into a corner and pick the bike up quickly coming out of a corner.

Corner speed is key to quick lap times, rather than outright power. Just take at look at any of Blue's videos and how he matches/beats the times of the 600/1000 boys and girls. He makes his time up by carrying much higher speeds in the corners, rather relying on power (which he is down on compared to the sportsbikes) coming out of the corners and on the straights.

Anyway, as for the pics... i'm sure everyone here remembers their first trackdays! I was one of the slowest riders out there! Important thing is that you enjoyed yourself, which seems to be the case :)

Blue ,

" AND this chap ?" happens to be me on me old dog of a track bike. Only my second time at brands and its true, none of the photo's taken that day are very good. The girl taking the pictures at Druids was at the entry to druids ( and appeared to be more interested in chatting to the marshall ) where most bikes are still upright rather than on the exit where she would have got much more interesting shots.

As I was err angry that the photos were crap and I could have taken better ones myself, well to be fair my 1 year old cousion could take better photos.

Photographically they are ok, the bikes are in the middle of the pics and in focus ... I think to say chuck them out is a bit harsh ? but the photographer does need educating what the punter is gonna be after ... i.e. shots with lean, kneedowns, pegs down etc!! ;) Its just where they have no subject matter appreciation ...

Well the thing is mate if, they are meant to pros taking the photos right? Its there job, if someone is expecting us to pay for them they it should be done right. You know I would hope they would be in focus, but also them in the middle of the frame isn't what you want sometimes, I know whats possiable when taking a photo.

You know whats the point in having a photo if it doesn't look right? Espically if your paying out for it. I just hope next time he isn't taking the photos, casue they clearly aren't very good or what us lot are after.
