This was just parked outside DYMAG =P~
Got chatting to the bloke who is engineering it for some race series and they're also trying to get into the BSB, but due to the power to weight ratio the likes of Honda and Suzuki are kicking up a bit of a fuss, this model has the ST2 ducati motor in, they do have one with the 1098 lump in it which is kicking out 240bhp at the rear wheel.
When it's up and running in what ever series they get it into he's promised my brother and me cooperate tickets and a go on the bike, i'll believe that when i see it though

Anyway, here are some pic's, poor quality as taken on the phone.

Oh and if you want one of these the Air cooled model is 23k and the liquid cooled will set you back 45k :-s

I saw this at the Excel show yesterday. The design and detail is something else.

Oh noooo ... what have they done to you "Jonny Number 5"?!?

Cool looking bike - but I'd rather not be phoning round for insurance quotes on it ;-)

this thing has been knocking about or ages while they've been trying to get that hub steering sorted out and iirc thats one of the biggest issues for it should it go down on a track...those bright red and flimsy looking steering rods are bound to buckle or twist so not much chance of picking the bike up an finishing the race.

Still i'd love to see it being riden in anger on a track :smt077

Cant ever see that design feature taking mass market as it looks far too expensive to get off the ground.

wouldnt mind taking that on the track ;) .. but dont find it's looks appealing at all

is there a reason why hub stearing cant use traditonal hoses instead of those red thingys? just have a normal hydrolic break system instead of push me pull me one?

The brakes use normal hydraulic lines, the red bars are rods for the steering. They transmit force directly, not using hyraulics to the best of my knowledge.

in an engineering way ... it's sexy.
in a biker way... I don't want horizontal forks...
in a honest way... I like it as its differant and cutting edge.

Cutting edge :?:

It looks like they tried to make the front look like a swing arm but had to make drastic and impractical modifications to get the whole thing to work.

is that what hub stearing is basicly about, wacking a swing arm on the front?

otherwise it could not steer.

Why would anyone want to hide the detail of that frame.
In fact why would anyone want to hide the SV frame? :-P

That is an absolutely amazing piece of kit, with similar technology though you could probably lighten it even more by making the swingarm(s) pivots part of the engine, if you were prepared to design a whole new lump. And that way do without a frame altogether.

For a curvy frame it's a crime, for a pointy a necessity.

its not the best looking bike is it, looks like they've got the back ends of 2 bikes welded them together and put an engine in the middle:smt120

Isn't that just a 2D with a different paint scheme and re-jigged pipework? EDIT: Oh... DanDare already did that bit! :winner:
