View Full Version : Harrumph........
First it was Christmas....... not a flippin' Nintendo DS Lite anywhere in the country. Had to get 'em from Hong Kong. Then FedEx billed me for import duty :(
Now, just before half-term and when times are allegedly tough..... no Nintendo Wii consoles anywhere in the country (other than Dixons/Comet who have some overpriced bundles still available). Even Pixmania are charging ?280 for something that shpould be about ?100 less:smt068
My kids have been saving their pocket money for months and now, when I've relented and said "yes" to them having one at half term, I can't find one anywhere. They're heart-broken.
Grumble, grumble.......

Try AV Forums. There's a thread there for Wii stock alerts. I managed to get one for Christmas 2006 because someone posted there that Amazon had just got some in.

Amazon regularly have stock and is probably the best place to get one.

Use this site: http://www.wii-consoles.co.uk/
That will give you 24hr stock alerts, who has what and at what prices. I got one for Christmas by being patient and trying a few times over a week or more. You'll need to be quick when they do come online.
Amazon is your best bet as they have regular stock coming in drib and drabs. Get 1-click payment set up to minimize time.
According to the stock alert amazon have some now...

Try Sainsbury's. Seriously. There's where ours came from. You may need to bribe someone there to tip you off as to stock coming in though. We had someone on the inside, so scored the staff discount too. Sweet!

They now have one less than they did 5 mins ago :D
Amazon didn't have any at lunchtime........ anyway, happy bunny now. Ordered extra controller and numbnuts (I think that's what it's called) as well.
Thanks guys - just when I'd given up the .org comes to the rescue

Glad you got it sorted!
If it's for kids (well it doesn't really matter either way) I can't recommend Super Mario Galaxy enough - one of the best games ever made IMO. Good enough to have my mum hooked and staying up til 4am so she can get a few more stars.
Enjoy :D
