View Full Version : Childhood Photo's
Seeing Plowsie's pic of himself from a few years ago made me smile, and I thought it might be fun if we all posted pics of ourselves from years ago.
Sadly, I only have one photograph from my childhood (dysfunctional familes, eh!) but here it is. Apologies for the quality, but it is more than 40 years old:D
http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j5/Lissasv650/img016.jpg
I'm the blond beauty at the back, the grizzly one at the front is my sister, showing her true nature early in life:rolleyes:
So come on, lets see yours:D
I've snaffled this one from my cousin's facebook as I've got none here. All embarrassing photos are at my mum's.
In the top photo I'm the miserable looking (no, really), scraggly munchkin at the back left (Pictured with my two sisters. (I was adopted)). Below are 'golden oldies' of my assorted cousins. I've not stuck them in on purpose, it's just the way Lizzie's made this image. Looks like she scanned the whole page from a family photo album (sorry).

I was (and still am apparently) too ugly to have any photos taken of me in my younger days.... :(

Quick (boring) old photo story;
I recently subscribed to my old local newspaper from Skye, the marvellously entitled "West Highland Free Press"
Was looking through a downloaded edition and passed an old school photograph and for some reason went back for a closer look - was suddenly in tears laughing - My first day at school with the rest of Primary One :)!
The most sobering thought though was the editorial title above it proudly heralding "35 Years Ago Today".....................
..............my laughing strangely gave way to a reflective silence
Me and my little bruvver, there's 9 years between us. I reckon this was taken in 1974, so I'd have been 12.

I do have some cracking photos of my kids when they were little, like my son in a babygrow and red wellies with a pair of his sister's knickers on his head, one of daughter #3 stuck in the loo with just her head and legs sticking out etc.

Some really cute pics there, i have childhood pics but fortunately i don`t have a scanner :D
I'm afraid I threw successfull enough tantrums that at a very early age it was almost impossible to take a photo of me unless it was done by surprise.
You can go through my parents house and think they only had a son, loads of him, part-time fireman, graduation, wedding, with newly spawned offerings to the world...
... me - a single school photograph - but taken only four years ago when I worked in a school.

Havnt got any Photo's from my youth, Stepmother burned them all when she decided to take all the past out of my dads life
Similar reason why I haven't, only my father burned all ours when my mother left just so she couldn't have any:smt102
The photo of Ping reminds me of my attitude to having my pic taken, I used to hate it......the whole having to sit still and pose bit:-D
Lozzo looks like a seriously cool young man, and Dirtydog must have melted some hearts with those eyes of his:cool:
Jabba's makes me smile because one of the only ways I could get my oldest lad to stand still long enough to have his photo taken was to give him something to eat:-D

See my avatar.
My mum loved me in that blue tshirt - I'd come home from nursery or whereever, and when I'd gone to bed, mum would wash it again, so I could wear it the next day!
Used it for the tablesettings at our wedding (pics of me and gf/wife at a similar age)
My mother burnt all mine when I left home:(

Since my mum had bitter and twisted parents, upon entering my house and walking up the stairs you will see 3 trillion (yes, really) baby-growing up etc pics of me and my 4 sisters. How embarrassing :(
Lissa already posted mine (!) I'm not doing it again!

Lozzo looks like a seriously cool young man,
I was seriously uncool actually. Me and my first ever girlfriend Caron (my eldest daughter's mum) spent most of our time together looking after my little bruv and giving him speech therapy - he had serious learning difficulties as a young child which have eased a bit as he's grown up. It gave me a great lead into being an understanding parent.
I have a feeling Caron took that photo on a trip into Bedford for the River Festival or something similar.

My ma has the same problem. There's my sister's wedding pics in the front room, but I removed mine when I kicked my ex-wife out. In its place for 10 years lived a school photo from 1975, until I gave ma a copy of a trackday pic of me kneedown through Coppice at Donington. I like that photo, I'm wearing a black visor.

Being a child of the early 70's, the 'slide' revolution gripped my folks, and so all pics of me and my brother are on slides. I've been meaning to find somewhere that digitises them.....but I never get round to it
If I can find it, there is a hilarious one of me and my bro in matching red tracksuits (aka 118 118) and superhero vests. We were both frighteningly gangly....just arms, legs and feet.
Jo <- could never be described as gangly now
