Just bought a pair of these from maplins;

They measure internal, external and depth up to 150mm, even come in a case, and include a new battery - I suspect because they have been hanging around a while, mine was flat so had to put the new one in to get it to work.

Cant grumble for a tenner - they're almost decent, certainly good enough for what I'm likely to need - suggest you get one quick if its on your workshop list.

Whilst I own a digital caliper. I don't use it for any precision measurement. For that I use my Moore & Wright vernier calipers and micrometers.

I had a look at one of these a while back, pretty sure it's the same as the Halfords one which costs about ?25.

:lol: I treated myself to a pair of digital calipers after my trusty verniers went 'missing'. I was always quietly jealous of our QA managers digital ones, so when mine got nicked I invested in a pair.

Every time I use 'em they drive me nuts. With my verniers I would measure something, and read off the scale.

With my digital ones, it goes something like: Measure. Bugger forgot to turn 'em on. Turn on. Oh, need to zero 'em. Bugger now it's set to inches I want mm. D'oh! re zero. What's this? They're flashing again?! battery's going again?! #-o

Arrggghhhhh!

Great for occasional use, but I miss my verniers :(
