It was posted on here a while ago of some red flowers (poppies maybe?) in front of a church.

I have been searching for ages but can't seem to find it. Can anyone help as I can't remember who took it?

thanks
Luke

Thanks guys!

And just to be sure - this is a straight photograph, right? No photoshop work other than maybe some colour work?

I've xoomed in to 400% in IE7 and I have to say that if it's been photoshopped then it's very good indeed. You can see the slight lack of focus in the foreground flowers which is down to "depth of field" and there's even a dead flower in the foreground.

I suspect that the image has been "tweaked" increase the saturation of red colours, but that's about it. Some digi-cams have a "chrome" setting to increase colour saturation in the photo "as taken" (see the "what camera should I buy thread of kitkat's - the Fuji S5700 has this feature) but the reds in this picture look to be a bit more than this.

On the other hand, all the above could be total "bobbins"

I suggest you contact BluePete (http://forums.sv650.org/member.php?u=3625) and ask him

It's one of mine, taken just outside Slaidburn on my Fuji F31fd in auto mode. There has been no photoshop work at all, not even colour enhancement. It's just down to the extreme clarity of the colour red in the tulips, the very bright, sunny day and the blue sky to contrast with the red.

What do you need it for?

typical fuji - always very very vivid on the colors - I must admit I looked at that and thought fake, then thought fuji lol - really nice composition :-)

Thanks Pete,

I don't really need it for anything - more reference/proving a point! When I first saw this pic, I thought the flowers were computer generated. There is something about vibrant red on green that gives the illusion of a matte line (look at the contrast between the base of the petals and the grass) but it's completely real! :)

At the moment, I'm working a film which has a lot of CG red flowers on green vines and they just look a little odd and I just want to point out to people, you see the same things we are seeing in our CG, in real life.;)

I wonder what it looks like to someone who is red/green colour blind?!
