I am having a bit of trouble lately, new boots and can't find the gear lever. I went out this morning, back in 5min adjusted it and shoved the spanner under the seat, just got back knowing a little bit more positioning required lifted seat and no spanner, it must have fallen off the waterproofs and down the side/out.
But it is no ordinary spanner. it is my Snap On 10mm combi. Why the feck did I use a decent one. I must have 5 other 10mm spanners, but I always go by instinct to my snap on stuff.
AAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH
Screaming time again. However, I console myself in the knowledge of what could have happened if the spanner had fallen into the chain/brakes etc.
Never mind, I've still got mine... ;-)

Last me over 20 years, until I lost the thing. Many of my tools are Snap On. Simply because I cannot afford to keep replacing them.
I have all sorts of makes. Most of my Whitworth stuff is King ****, AF Britool, and more modern metric stuff Snap On, Brittool and Teng
My tool chest/roll cab are Snap On, and the overflow is Clarke. I used to work for a couple of teams on these types of cars

and these types

(Note not these actual cars, the ones I worked on are of the same models,Chevron B29, B31 and some Fomula Ford/2). Snap On was the norm.
Edit time. Found some of the Red Rose racing B21s taken at Low Mill , Whittle le Woods. That have had grubby hands on

I started hanging round and brewing up at one of the units my dad rented to 4 teams at age about 13/14, from then on I would do bits to "Help", get to go to races. On the parts run to Chevron at Bolton. Learnt to work clean and methodical. set up gearboxes/suspension etc. Even after I started my apprenticeship at Leyland Motors and doing my degree, I carried on with the racing at nights/weekends until I was about 24 and moved down south. Sadly by the time I came back they had all gone. Perhaps it got just too expensive to own private teams in the early 80s.
It did give me a way of working. To always clean my tools and put them away when finished. to identify all parts removed and to double check all fittings. When I worked on tear down as an apprentice for Leyland this approach was invaluable.

They're sensuously arousing to use, shiny and smooth, curves in all the right places...

But he's right, you pick up a Snap-On spanner or ratchet handle and it just feels right in your hands. No other tool manufacturer can match it.

Dunno really, we use a lot of snap on stuff with the RAF and yes it is good quality. However I use Halfords pro stuff and I really cant fault it. Plus just like snap on you get the lifetime guarentee.

there scratched!
I know, I found them in the bottom of one of my old tool boxes. Put there and forgotten about. How sad is that. Well back in my main box to restore the karma
Did you take the rear plastics off your bike to have a good look for the first one?
