Right. All set?

Sunday 2 March.

Meeting point Shalford station (A281 south of Guildford) .

Time: 10:30 for 11am departure.

There's a cafe at the meeting point for those that turn up early enough and need a bacon boost and a crisps and coffee stop halfway round. Finish point is Newlands Corner (A25 east of Guildford), as usual, so fodder (burgers, chips, sandwiches etc) to be found there, also.

Not posting the route, so you can't tell when we get lost, but the clue is in the title. You ain't gonna break any land speed records on most of this one but, if the sun's shining, there's some lovely countryside on our doorstep folks.

All welcome.

Any takers?

3. Apart from that. Ill be there 100% weather dependant!"

I'm not evil but i'll answer anyway

1. You'll fit in nicely in the GM as we're always er missplacing ourselves ;) If you can make it to shalford station then you'll be fine on the ride out

2. Some of us are fast some of us aren't, we wont leave you behind

3. See you there then

I only want to see countryside tear past my helmet at 100 miles per hour. With me preferably still on the bike, mind. :p

Sounds good to me. Have no clue how to get to Shalford though but I'm sure I'll figure it out!

Hey Blueto, hopefully eviltwin will post up some more instructions or route... as it might be handy if several people know the route!

Just ride at your own pace, don't try and keep up with anyone, we'll sort out some kind of order and explain things a bit more before the rideout but always ride at a speed your comfortable with. Also we generally use a marker system using a tail end Charlie so theres no need to worry about getting lost, worry more about the people leading ;)

Should be good though, post route!

What other instructions do you need? The start time and location and end location have been posted. Eviltwin has already said that he is NOT going to post the route (see the first post).

The marker system will be used if enough people turn up. All will be explained on the day.

Don't worry.

Well first of all we need a rider to lead and a tail end charlie. Both riders need to know the route, also one or two in the middle that know the route would also help, especially to stop those at the front when they go wrong!

Dan, sadly the SVs will be right up our chuffs on this one, with the amount of back road bendiness! *

*Though I'd recommend a bit of a sensible approach to tailgating. Some very bendy bits which are likely to induce a bit of rear brake action.

Might one be so bold as to enquire which group I should consider with an SV1000? It's a bit sprightly however is an SV.

Is there a special group for mucky bikes with corroded bits? If so perhaps I should go there to save the pretty ones getting grubby?

Really? Maybe I shouldn't have joked then.

Anyway, real ale is made from fish. Should veges stop drinking real ale?

Not all beer is un-veggie.

Well that was a bit of fun. Bit tiring all those back roads. I volunteer for TEC next time, though. Can't lose people then. Cue Law posting arrangements for the next ride. :riding:

What a bloody marvellous day that was. Really interesting route which well and truly tested out the tweaked suspension and brakes a fair bit. Some good kneedown moments, some cool one wheel moments and a scary two wheel air moment (I think I did a star jump on my bike). Huge thanks to ET and Sarah for sorting the route out, thanks to Stu for showing us his slow gravel car park skills ;). Oh and sorry that we left you in the pub! :p

Was also nice to meet the 'other' Dan. AKA the Grinchster and also Ooger.

Look forward to the next rideout. :p

This is a bit like Soviet Russia. The thought police edit out the bits of posts that they don't like and things just disappear...It's for the good of us all comrades.
