Well there you go. I phoned Strathearn Tyres on Thursday 7th at about 2pm to order in some new rubber and lo-and-behold, they phone on Friday mid-morning to say that they're in. It'll be off to Crieff on the morning of Sat 9th then.
The forecast was for rain in the morning but drying up as the day went on. And so it did. Quedos an I managed to miss the rain altogether even although the not-so-far horizon was pitch black for a good part of the way. The new tyres were fitted in the usual Strathearn way - quick and clean with a real good price tag.
Well you just have to scrub them in, don't you? A full tank of fuel later and a journey that ran from Crieff to Bridge of Alan (via Braco) to Falkirk for a bowl of soup. Then on to Callendar, up the Loch Venacher road and over the Dukes Pass into Aberfoyle. Down the A82 'til Strathblane and across the A891 into Lennoxtown and on to Kilsyth before using the canal road to head back home before the light failed.
Nice one.
The Dukes was not too busy, but strewn with gravel for a good distance on two or three points. Not great in conjunction with new rubber after a bit of a break :smt120.
No sign of CarelessChucca either:D.
Sunday was spent cleaning and adjusting various bikes too.
Hope you all managed a little something this weekend.
