hi guys, im about to get my 11,000 service on my K3. wheres a good place to get it done in reading? Its been serviced at Lamba in Carshalton (sp?) untill now, but I cant be bothered to take it all that way now Im in reading!!
How much would i be looking at? Im going to fit new hoses and pads either just before or after depending on time so i dont need those parts in the service!
thanks for any pointers! :)

No recomendations in Reading....sorry. :(
SDMF might be the person to PM, as he is one of the few that live there.
I use DWR in Aylesbury.
Nick recently used AMS and they were cheap and he seemed happy with the service.
No recommendations from me either. I don't use garages for servicing. I would also not recommend my local garage in Newbury so of no help what-so-ever.

Just had mine serviced by these guys - http://www.amsmotorcycles.org.uk/
They are good value at 190 pounds for a full service inc valve clearances and they collect/deliver for free.

thanks for that, i will give them a call.
do you see that they offer a free interim service with every full service??
will they be able to stamp my book?

Yeah, pretty sure they will stamp the book. I don't have one so just keep receipts. I forgot to ask if the free interim service is still on offer. I need to get a price on a new rear tyre so will ask aswell..
For Tyres I would recommend Ride In Bike tyres in Reading just off Tilehurst Road.

Just had a quote for a rear BT014 from AMS - 99 pounds all in , collected and delivered.
Ride in Bike Tyres quote was - 108 pounds , ride in/out service.

Sweet. But that wasn't just collect and deliver for the tyre change alone was it :?:

Yep! Just for the tyre change :-)
But I might just got to Mark at Ride In Ride Out.. I'm sure he will match the 99 quid.
Mark'll clean your wheel too, when he changes the tyre:)

I'm getting mine taken into AMS on Friday night. They're coming t pick up at 6:30pm and will deliver back on Sunday morning. Awesome! Getting a full service plus new fork oil.
My tyre man (G&S tyres) came today to do my tyres. He also fixed my garage door which used to stick all the time. What a guy!:)

I'm hiding my girlfriend away. He has already started working his magic on her so I am having to make an effort with her to ensure she doesn't surcome to his fiendish ways.

Hehe, Nick your reputation preceeds you! :makelurve:
I have been know in the past to be a hit with the ladies. Unfortunately for me those ladies were usually sporting the latest colostomy bag and purple rinse.
Screw it, I'll take what I can get! ;)

I'm just wondering what Nick17's gf thinks of all this!
He says that she refuses to go pillion but I think that he is just trying desperately to keep her away from all of us!

Also when you suggested making a detour to his house, he wasn't having any of it.
Made up some excuse about the in laws, which i notice he seems to wheel out every fortnight. :p

Indeed. What is he so afraid of - you and I are hardly the worst characters to have round your house.
I reckon, knowing the effect that he has on the ladies, he was concerned that the combined power of your wit and my beauty would be too much for his gf to handle.
Alternatively she could really be a he?

Sorry Nick, I'm sure your gf is lovely.
For 6 months my mates thought that my (now) wife never existed. The used to call me Columbo.

This thread has gone from recommending a garage to my g/f being accused of being a man..
Could this be the biggest de-rail ever?
We need a new mod!

You said he could have a glass of water, but only outside near the servants entrance. ;)
As for my gf, she's old news as of a few weeks now. Do try and keep up old man. :p

Ther are many garages in Reading. Some of which cater for cars, buses and even motorscooters.
There.
So you got any pics of your bird then ASM? :safe:
