find 2nd hand restricter kit on flea bay or something, fit it then get it dyno'd < not really needed

some one wrote a walk through of how to do it, try searching it, sorry about as much help as a chocolate tea pot

Not a hard job, is it faired model?

Just take the tank up, airbox off, carbs up and put the washers in there.

EDIT: that is for the throttle slides (suzuki's kit) which is what i've got, not the FI international kits

The washers type kit is a little different, that fits right under the carbs in the intake tract, no need to take the carb tops off. Rest of the writeup still stands

The thing is that you need to get a paper signed by an official dealer saying that it's been fitted properly, I doubt they will just sign it if you tell them that you've done it yourself...

I got mine fitted by a dealer, got them to sign a bit of paper that I wrote out, sent it to my insurance company and they accepted it as proof

agreed, i personally haven't acutely come across an insurance company that has uttered the words restricted license or 33BHP, that doesn't mean you don't need to restrict your bike though, have a smack and I'd be 99.99% sure that your insurance company would say your cover is invalid so "on yer bike son"

i think FI and those sorts say it just to con even more money out of you, think most others will agree

LOL! don't go there was a huge boring thread about this :smt042

another thing, FI say that their kits can only be fitted by a FI kit certified fitter which is bull plop because even garages that arnt on their list can still get ahold of them and fit them

the company that i went with this year asked me for my restriction certificate amongst a number of other things like copies of photocard and paper licence!! very annoying, but worth it for the price i got!!

then it was well worth it for me!! can't remember off the top of my head but will go look if you want me to. only cost me £383ish TPFT, riding other bikes, with only one years experience one year no claims. though my bike is garaged with a top meta alarm and have 3.5 years no claims on a car and experience driving work vehicles ie. big vans (which they asked me about).
