I'm really excited! My wife has been booked in for an induction to have our first child on 3rd March. We have to be at the hospital at 8am. Kate will be 39 weeks pregnant.

To give some background, she is being induced due to developing Gestational Diabetes (diabetes brought on by pregnancy).

Cant wait to meet my son!

Some videos of him in the "womb with a view"......

Same thing happened to us. Ethan was induced at 38 weeks due to diabetes. Make sure you enjoy every moment.
As Ethan was delivered Guns and Roses', Sweet Child o' Mine came on the radio - such a sureal but wonderful moment. Goose pimples even now and that was 15 months ago.

Congratulations again.

All the best for the induction.

Enjoy fatherhood and make the most of every day with them, the time flies by...well it does if like me you suffer with sporadic amnesia.

Cheers!

I'm even more chuffed they picked 39 weeks as opposed to 38 weeks as my band have a gig in Fleet on Thurs 28th Feb and I really didnt want to have to cancel the gig.....

At least I have my priorities right...... ;)

best of luck of mrs c - inducation is the best way to go. both of my kids were induced due to gestational diabetes too. daughter at 38 weeks and son at 36.5 weeks.

at least once she has them she can stop the bloody testing and insulin injections.

first video it looks like baby has an elvis type quiff. amazing the technology these days. when i had mine you were lucky to get a scan picture and when you did the "baby" looked like a skittle lol

bloody hell that pricey. as im a tight jock i would have just waited to meet them in person.

have they given you an idea of size of baby? good thing about diabetes it produces sturdy sprogs

Pricey yes, but to see them moving in the belly was just sooooo moving. There was me, Kate, my parents, her mum and her sister all in the room in tears....

As for size, he is normal size but with shortish legs (like his mum - 4'11"- and dad 5'7")

Same thing happened to us this past weekend. Wife went in for induction on friday night(40 wks) due to the same problem and our second daughter was delivered late sunday night.
Good luck with the induction. I hope it works first time for you guys. My missus had 3 goes and it only just worked on the 3rd go.

Hope all goes well. I have 3 kids and all three were induced. Not because of a particular health scare, but because they were warm and comfy where they were and wouldn't come out !!

My son is five months and it's flown past. It's been great.

Get in there down the business end, no experience like seeing your child arrive into the world. What's happening just takes any squeemishness away completely. Take a face cloth and small plastic bowl for rinsing water so you can keep your wife refreshed and comfortable. Stick a few 500ml bottles of water in the freezer and take them out at the last minute, as they defrost she'll have fresh ice cold water throughout her labour. For one night only calmly absorb any unreasonable behaviour, rattyness, impatience, insult or indeed violence thats she throws at you.

I'm not gonna wish you luck 'cos your not gonna need it!

Relax and Enjoy! :D

Congrats mate, I'm not brave enough for kids yet. Besides, I'd get bored after 6 months and want to trade them in!!

I would have come to your gig but I'm in Barcelona then.
