PMSL ... I just cancelled my insurance with them cos they wanted to charge me 40 notes (admin fee) just for a simple change of address!! I could have accepted a "reasonable" admin fee cos I realise they'd have to re-issue documents, but 40 quid?!? Nooooo thanks :) Good luck tho Laura and hope you enjoy the new job ;-)

Coz they have been paying you {whatever} a week/month whilst you have been off ... dunno how much statutory pay is, over 5 months that must have added up ...
You are within your rights, sure, I just think morally it is a bit cheeky/questionable to resign on your first day back after them paying you x? whilst sick for 5 months !?
Anyway, good to see you are up and running (so to speak) again! 8)
Cheers huni, it means i dont have to work weekends (well i MIGHT have to work every other weekend but its not EVERY weekend like im doing at the mo), alos i wont have to commute to work every day as they are moving to a estate near where i live so i can walk there :)

Oh right, didn't realise it was the gov, I thought that as you were full-time, and it was your company were legally bound to pay out!?
In which case its no biggy!! :)
Like I said great to see you are out and about again now and congrats on the new job and if it is just round the corner - wow what a bonus 8)
But it won't give you an excuse to get out on the bike!?!? ;)
p.s. I thought the SV was a gonner (written off)??? Evidently got the wrong end of the stick there too!! :D
Good luck with the new job paws :)

{whisper} To be fair after 5 months off, they would have someone else in and probably slightly glad they won't have an overstaffing issue to contend with ;)
Good luck with the new job, must feel very weird going back to work after so much time off.

Goverment pay the statutory sick pay.......and a good company will generaly make up the rest of your wage for you.
So say you normally take home £2000. When your off sick after a certain duration you get your £350 SSP your company if they are good to you will pay you another £1650 out of good will to make you wage as normal. Normally for at least 6 months.
So in reality Paws employer havnt been very nice to her whilst off ill if she has had to just live off SSP :(.

Depends on how long you are off for though. Not many employers I know would pay 5 months full pay if you are off sick - a few weeks maybe though.

lol, she was-i bought a fellow soho members sv a few weeks ago

Ah, I thought you picked up some other sh1tt3r the other month to tied you over before the triumph (and to be used as a hack) ... what happened to that ... I obviously need to keep a bit more up to date on your activities!! :D
hey paws see if u can strike up a special deal for some sv memebrs>?
i bought a cb1-400, never used it and sold it a few months ago, not sure how long i'll keep this sv for-esp as once the new job moves to its new premises i wont be needed a bike to commute on

Yeah, I had to have 4 weeks off last year and my company only paid for 5 days of it...

Excellent news that you're up and about again. Being stuck indoors must have made you lose it!
I too, am awaiting for my shiny new Trumpet. :)
