Hi all, thought I'd introduce myself properly here.
I discovered this site last night while trying to look for technical help for starting my sv (which still won't start :() - mind you I only have a few hours at weekends to fiddle with it, its dark when I get home from work at the mo.
Anyhoo, I've got to say that I'm very impressed with this site - seems to have lots of members and regular posts etc - got a technical reply within minutes last night
Just in case your'e wondering, I've got a curvy black naked sv650 on a T plate. Its a cracking bike for its age (when I get it started) and only had 11,000 on the clock when I bought in last July. Its now approcahing 15,000, without any problems at all.
Oh, and in case anyones wondering, the bike pictured in my avatar is what I'm riding until the sv gets fixed: a 1980 honda benlt CD185T. Funky or what?

Alright mate, welcome to probably the best biking forum in the UK. A slightly contentious remark but if you take into consideration the lack of tits, gimps, fools and abundance of helpful, happy jolly folk it isn't that contentious after all.
ps.) Nice Honda. Can you wheelie it?

Can't say I've ever tried - not that I'd want to, the front suspension is about as springy as a brick. I think I'd knack myself and the bike if I tried.
Welcome Magicrat, get yourself over onto the pennine massive sub section as there are plenty of locals around.
Incidentally, you werent up at Hawes on Sunday were you?

Cheers for the welcome guys.
yup, the honda is defo summat different - its won me a trophy for best rat at a rally before (admittedly it was the only rat bike in the show)
Can't wait to get up and running on my s.v tho, the honda has a wonky frame after a t##t drove into the back of me, and so I'm getting backache cos I've got to compensate for this due to the way I sit. To make things worse, when parking up outside asda the other night I dropped it when I got a twinge in my back getting off it. nothing serious, smashed the rear lense and was a bit embarrasing was all...
