LED number plate light replacement

Hi just got a undertray and i want to fit it with a single white LED to act as the number plate light, can i just disconnect the existing number plate light and the connect a single LED or do i need resistors or something?

havent a clue

no you can just fit the led.
I've done this job and used the connector from the numberplate light. so you should be ok.
