What program you playing the DVD's in?

Play them in Media Player, right click, press full screen.

yep i use media player because its simpler than the other DVD player my comp has (cant think of the name now)

yeha i do that, but it still does not fill the screen. i know some DVDs have the black boarder on the top, because of wide screen, but mine is wide screen so it shouldnt suffer from this much. but also there is about 3 inchs horizontal on each side of black boarder which is the problem (as well as the borader on the top)

does that make more sence?

Yarp a little, have you fiddled around with your monitor properties?

What system are you running?

Doesnt WMP optimise, so it wont go so big that it pixilates

Thats what i thought, but, its a DVD, it shouldnt be that bad...

some films are extra widescreen* so you will still get the black boarders top and bottom. It will do the same on your TV as well if you have a widescreen TV.

*This is my technical term

Then it is the DVD to screen compatability, surely?

yep, that what I think.
Is there somthing I should change as a setting? Because I can imagine that the DVDs just cant play full screen?!

The resolution on a wide screen monitor is probably waaay more than a standard dvd.

1650x1050 on a 22" normally I think, not that huge... Tell you what, my cheapy Belinea doesn't do that, I'll swap you :smt025

yep thats the res its set to. ive tried alot of things. its res shouldnt be aproblem. the only thing i can think would be the graphics card? but that dosent really make sence becasue its running the screen at 1650x1050 already
