Yeah true the line up isn’t great, but hopefully it will improve.
Anyway you need at least 1 band to throw bottles at right? Isn’t that why they got “My Chemical Romance” last year???? How long did they last, 10mins?
Anyway I’m sure it be a good experience. The only thing i didn't like last year was the bogs, they allmost killed me.

they arent releasing day tickets YET. Did this a couple of years ago when i went. Wait until it gets nearer the date andthey will start releasing tickets to make up their numbers. There is no way they wont want to maximise their profits !
And what's wrong with Kiss ! Saw them about 29 years ago, and they do put on a good show, even if you think that their music is dated. Once you have had a few beers you won't really care !

I like kiss, and i don't mind the other head acts, but they could have picked some better acts to headline.
I went to see Hayseed dixie last year in the small tent, well funny, and i got to the front.
Tis a rather poor lineup, and rip-off priced tickets. I'd rather fly to germany to this (http://www.wacken.com/en/woa2008/main-bands/billing-2008/) (W.O.A) which imo has a far better lineup. Also with the price of tickets into it, and cheap flights over, would cost about the same as weekend tickets to download! Hmmm now just a question of persuading my mates to do it too!

The Lostprophets absolutely owned the stage at Reading, to a crowd of about 40000... I was really quite amazed, I like them but I had no idea they could do that. Best crowd response I've ever seen for a mid-afternoon band, full stop. So, the only likely problem here is that the crowd will be full of bell ends who'll set out to ruin it for everyone else.
Still, I have to laugh, T in the Park gets Rage Against the Machine, Download gets the Offspring. I thought they were dead! Last time they played a festival I was at, they failed to live up to their 4pm slot, and that was back in the day.
Download headliners are traditionally mince though... Tool, Feeder, Audioslave...

Decided not to in the end, it's another 2 day bill stretched onto 3 (and 2 stage bill on 3 stages too). Seriously, Sign on the main stage? But there's some good stuff. Go see Skindred! And the Wildhearts, total legends both.
nope, awful lineup with half a ton of newbie bands that no ones ever heard of

Think so aye, on the sunday...
PS, METALLICA! Woo hoo! Add that to my comment up the thread about RATM doing T in the Park, Metallica do Reading, where does it leave the metal festival when they can't draw the big metal bands?

Well, they did manage Iron Maiden last year and the webfeed was handy (until my router fell over, only coming back on 4 songs before the end).
Gutted that I can't make it to Download as it's the only gig KISS are playing in the UK.
I don't care what anyone says, they put on the most spectacular show you will ever see.
I wanna go to download on the Friday. I would give a testicle to see Disturbed!

I'd keep my balls if I were you:smt106 I looked at the website out of mild curiosity - I've not heard of most of these bands. Can't say my life is somehow incomplete. But then I'm an old fart anyway:D
£130 for a weekend ticket - are they having a laugh?
a testicle to see disturbed is quite a lot! seen em twice, both times great gigs!! but i wouldnt give up either ball!

£130 worth of tempted? And the fuel cost to get there? Plus food drink etc, I reckon little change from £200. I can think of better ways to spend that much dosh.

Not quite,
I'll be watching ebay and gumtree for last minute tickets. If I can get a weekend one for less than 50 I'm there :)
Motorhead, Incubus, Audioslave too.
Shame the rest are crap ;)

I went, it was mental. Well worth the money, one of the best weekends ever.

Very good. Very good indeed.
Im not a fan at all, but they were definitely one of the best bands i saw. You can tell they have been doing it all these years, they put on an amazing show.

I've seen them twice, once without('88) and once with makeup ('96) and with the possible exception of Queen in '86 they were definitely the best gigs I've ever been to.
