Rule 1!
In case you are too old to know 'rule 1', it means you have to provide a photo. I assume this daughter is over 16(i seem to recall you saying your kids were 18+?).
So come on.......
You should probably make a new thread to keep this one on topic, there's a good boy. ;)

YES!
I'm in. But I need to get my leathers and boots out of storage first. I couldn't possibly go on a ride wearing textile trousers; they don't have sliders on them. For some reason the wife packed all my bike clothing away when we moved.

If possible can we make this a relatively short ride? 3hrs would be good for me.
My ideal would be ride for an hour and half. Have lunch at a pub. Ride home. Does anyone have any good routes?

We did the long ride thing, we failed to do the short ride last weekend - so now it is time for a county drive, a quick bite to eat and another ride.
We dont have to be ragging it the whole time do we?

If everyone is keen to do an all day ride then dont let me hold anyone back. Just airing my thoughts + trying to turn the ride into something I can actually attend (being selfish!).
If it is a long ride then I wont be able to come.
Jon
PS - 3hrs isnt that short - that was what last weeks ride was planned for - lunch, waiting 30mins for ASM to turn up and getting lost wasn't included in the 3hrs though.

So yeah, I am going to be leading this ride-out apparently, thanks to TonyK for volunteering me! I don't actually know what route Phil had in mind. Did he make it on googlemaps? I have a couple of ideas myself anyway, involving fish hill and the b4011 etc etc. I might make a route up myself and see how you like it. For those of you whining about it, might I suggest a 2-3 hour ride, ending in a nice pub that does great food? I know several :)
Also, in terms of speed and losing people, I will be doing the mirrors thing, and waiting at confusing places so people behind me know what to do. I shall also not be exceeding 100mph on the straights, but will not be going under 60mph on the bends ;).

Here is a test route, what do you reckon? First half is really nice twisty roads, second half is an A road blast to get to Fish hill and back, ending in the Prince of Wales Pub which does excellent home-cooked food. If it is a bit long, then we can cut out Fish hill, as it is a little out of the way.

Nice to meet all the new( and new to me) people.
Weather was decent as the roads dried out. The bike is now in a right state! Lissa do you do home visits? ;)
We managed to lose Tony/Sosha, although it wouldn't have been a TVSF rideout if we had stayed together. I assume you guys went to M40? As there was really only one road and we were on it. We pulled over in a layby for 20 minutes and didn't see you.
Talking of pulling over, Ian got a puncture. I think the tyre was complaining after the burnout(s). :)
Hopefully you are home by now and havn't been raped by a passing trucker.
Nice photos Lissa, however....

Shame I never made it. Although I have to say I watched the Superbikes and then......the Golf. So was entertained enough. Those roads were minging eh!?
You can still have a lot of fun on minging roads.

Cheers guys for a good ride out today. It was nice meeting you all, even though I was nursing a bit of a hangover...... although it was nothing a burger king and a couple of beers couldn't sort out. Hopefully catch up with you lot soon - can't wait to do fish hill in the dry!

Hello, I am back form London! THat was a great ride, despite the roads being quite greasy I found. May I point out nobody got lost until I had gone home so it wasn't on my watch! :-P
That photo of me is atrocious. I pulled a face on purpose but that will teach me never to do that again. Much better to just look grumpy like Mark:
