If a something is only available to women, is it discrimination?

Because here:
http://www.malmaison.com/promotions/mothers-day

gives 100 year olds (women only though) a free nights stay in a swanky hotel!

Basically, you get your age discounted from the price of a nights stay, as a percentage, if you're female. If you're male, you need to find a (preferably elderly) lady to take along.

But is this "fair"?
(it is of course, just a promotion for Mothers day)

I think its ok, but there are other views in this office....

Discuss!

I think the people in your office that have a problem with this need to get out more..

Perhaps we could argue that setting aside a day to recognise no more than half the population is discrimination against the other half.

Providing they do the same for "Fathers Day" it must be 100% legal

It is still discriminative ... there must be some 'ism that protects childless people?!!? ;)
