View Full Version : Calling all MoFo's
Fellow MoFo's...
We've not had a meet yet this year. And I'm not sure how the coming year will progress given that we don't currently have a regular venue.
So, what we gonna do about it?
We could go back to one of our old venues, or we could pick a new venue.
The old venues were chosen partly because they suited some of the regular attendees. The Roo suited Anna as it was within walking distance from her home, it was also not too bad for Stretch, Mac, Vix and I. When Anna left we moved to the Welly; that was walking distance for Stretch, Mac and not too bad for Vix and I - it was also a bit easier for the Welshies and the Wiltshire folks. When the Welly closed it's kitchen we had a couple of meets at Bocabar; it was within walking distance for Vix and I, and not too bad for Stretch and Mac, and not much different for the Welsh or Wiltshire folks.
Before we consider a venue I think we need to review who will actually attend. Then look for a venue in a suitable location.
So, who's still interested in having a weekly MoFo meet?

A group without a regular meet is like a ......... soemthing I can't think of.
I think we..well you...need a regular place that way folks can come along kind of without checking etc.
I support this venture, I just cant guarantee to ever turn up. But it would be nice to know where folks were of an eve if the day pans out to make it so.
Agreed Rich.
There's a place here (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&ll=51.433464,-2.462997&spn=0.183214,0.629654&z=11&msid=106546557917974781826.000446afeca04c2243d02) that might be an option. Certainly better for Stretchie now he's moved, better for the Wiltshire folks, alright for Vix and I, a bit further afield for Ben but at least it's a real ale non-plastic pub. Probably okay for you and Viper even.
Not too good for the Welsh of course, but they do their own thing now anyway.
Oh, I'm talking about the Swan Inn (http://www.britishpubguide.com/cgi-bin/pub.cgi?results:gloucestershire:845) by way, but it's only an option if the Wiltshire folks will come. If not, we might as well stay a bit more central to Bristol.

Nice looking pub that. Looks good for bike parking. In fact like an upmarket version of the Roo
Certainly a lovely summers eve ride home for me. Might encourage me to take the bike to work once a week.
Vix and I went there once, liked it, then promptly forgot where it was :)

That kind of eastern/southern side of Bristol confuses the hell out of me, but there are some very pretty bits. I can never work out where I am down that way.

Like Rich, it would be good to know it was going to be a regular place in case I can get away at the last minute. But being honest, once or twice a month would be a realistic attendance for me.

I have no idea where that is.
But yes we do need a place and we need to stick to it.
probaly turn up now and then, but not enough to influance the Decision
Looks like a good venue, for me its down to if I can get out of work early (before 7:00) in Swindon (the last four months have been 12 hour working days). Would be good to catch up with the bunch again.
Anyway I've not been a regular for a while so choose the venue and I'll make it if I can.

Shouldn't be too difficult to find - even for me!! I would prefer somewhere a little closer to Bristol but if this turns out to be the venue of choice then I'm cool with it.
