Righto...there has been a lot of talk on this forum about a meet for the MoFo's which is great, but a bit too far for me to come on a regular basis. I'm just testing the water to see if there are enough peeps in the SW (D & C) area who would be interested in a regular meet starting, say in April?

Thinking of Plymouth maybe - no plans as to what to do or where, but I know there are a few orgers in this area who I have yet to meet and would like to do so...

Please post up on here if you think its worthwhile progressing, and any suggestions you may have...

Ta,

BB.

Might be of interest Billy.

Thanks Alex, didnt know about that one, might look into it, but know of ones that south west bikers run...

Was thinking more about SV specific riders, and putting a face to the name form people on this forum.

If I'm talking out my chuff, and no one is interested, I'll just have to go to a 'generic' one then!:p

I agree, most of the South and West Surfers stuff seems to happen up in Bristol or Wales.

I am based a few miles from M5 J27, it would be good to have something going on in the South West D&C area, so I would definitely be interested.

Thanks Nomad and Andy - I know there are a few others who light be interested, lurking about, so I'll leave this running for a couple of weeks and then see if its worth organising something.

Glad to hear someone else would want to take it easy. I am just getting back on a bike after nearly two years following injury (not bike related).

There was a similar thread last month http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?p=1389513#post1389513 that seemed to generate some interest, so it is worth pursuing.

Hi Billy ... I was the RAC man that popped in to see you ( Hovis ,Mac99,etc) at the bunkhouse at lewdown last year ,

I work strange shifts but if I was off I would venture to Plymouth ...good idea :)

I'm right in the middle of everyone. It's a good idea as the welsh lot seem to stay one side of the bridge which is fair nuf i know. I'd be up for it as and when i can. It's abit of a ride for me either way, up to bristol or down to plymouth. Theres nothing very central to south west it's miles away for us further down south to get to any meets.

I agree, it's a fair stretch either way, although I prefer heading south (psychologically down hill). Might be an idea to see if there were a few who might like to meet more centrally in Devon either for its own sake or to ride south together and hook up with the Cornish.

I'm up fer it Billy. Specially if it's in Plymouth as I'm a lazy b'stard!

There's a few of us sv'ers in Plymouth that may be up for a regular meet.

Poole Quay's not far though, theres a few of us that go when the meet is on in the spring / summer / autumn. Also theres the bike meet at Hunters Lodge just otuside Wincanton on I think, Thursday nights to.

Oh yeah - I remember - would be good to see you again. As I said, I'll try to get an idea of numbers, and put up some suggestions on here about where to meet (looking like Plymouth possibly?) and do a poll suggesting which days etc.

If anyone wants to suggest a venue, please post it up - phil - whats cap'n jaspers like on a weekday evening for a bike meet?

Tis ok but if the weather takes a turn there's not much protection. Would be fine in summer but not so good for spring or autum. Would probably be better to fine a sub with reasonable parking and a good outside/beer garden.

The hunting lodge by ivybridge would suit the bill, as would the westward in lee mill or the pub at the top of plympton.

25-02-08, 12:18 PM
oh I know the hunting lodge - just off the A38 innit? Went there a couple of weeks ago for a drink - good access off the main road for everyone. Decent sized car park, and some outside seating too...

Forgotten about this thread to be honest...however, I propose the following...

I'll put a poll on another thread with some days of the weeks to choose from, starting w/c 28th April at The Hunting Lodge, Ivydridge - address is:

Cadleigh Park
Cadleigh Park
Ivybridge
Devon
PL21 9JN.

Hows about a 7pm meet - just for an hour or so and see how is goes?

Ta,

BB.

Edit - looks like the poll has been made a sticky...thanks, whoever did that!

Sorry for late reply, here's the thread for the SW Rideout-

http://www.sv-portal.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29358

If interested in going, please inform Skidz on the other forum so we have an idea of numbers.

We're donating the money raised from the rideout to the family of a great member we lost 2 days ago.

Really sorry, I had intended to be there but I have had a bit of a nightmare week, everything going badly at once and typically the car chose to pack up, so I have spent some long evenings fault finding. I should have let you know and do apologise for not doing so.

I am also still waiting for my new helmet to arrive but if a meet is on for next week I will be there even if I have to take the now repaired car.

Anyone thinking of coming tonight?

I will hopefully be there, but have a dentists appointment at lunch, and depending of how much drilling they do, I might not be able to get my lid on!

I'll post up at around 3pm....

I just started a new thread to ask if there was a meet on tonight but then thought I should have just added to this one in case anyone is subscribed to it, so while it is probably a bit late to catch anyone that might be going, is there a meet tonight?

phil24_7
21-05-08, 06:46 PM
Dunno, Billy organises them and I think he may have people visiting. I wont be coming as I'm in Oxford!

23-05-08, 07:20 AM
Sorry peeps - not been around for a few days.

I won't be able to make the meets for the next 2 weeks (Wed28th & 4th) as I have other committments.A

nyone who fancies going, please post on here and hopefully others who are interested will respond and you can all meet up - and I'll see you all in a few weeks.

Really need to get this meet thing off the ground!!

Cheers,

Cheers Matey - but Brizzle is just a bit damn far tho...!

I think this D & C thing is not reflecting well on my organisational skills!

phil24_7
23-05-08, 10:52 PM
I think it's more of a case of things being slow to take off. Once a small band of people start meeting regularly then it'll be easier for newbies to come along and for people to just drop in.

Give it time Billy, if you build it, they will come!
