Mine looked like that just after 5000 miles, so it must be an indication of how I ride

Great ain't it, I might get Z6's next and see how they stand up as everyone says good things. The front is on 11k to.

I swapped it with the SV in the back garden as I don't have the cash for a new one at the moment, though you don't want it as its go no tread down the middle.

I don't know if I should be jealous or proud. I'm lucky if I get 1,500 miles out of a rear tyre. The best I've managed on my 600 Hornet was just under 3,000 (Bridgestone 020), the worst was on my XR650 at 300 miles (Avon Pro-Rain).

Thats cus your using the wrong tyres, even on a a good day I was lucky to get 5k out of the 020's I had. You need the Conti Road-Attacks or the Z6's... would suit you much better.

Yup I got 3000 out of a Z4 on the rear of my SV and the same from a BT012 on the Zed - I tend to be quite hard on tyres but the Road Attacks are just awesome!

I tell everyone I know to get them!

On the ZX6R I get something like 11,000 to a set of Diablo Stradas (Same as Metz Z6). Just fitted a set of Avon Vipers, first time I've fitted sports rubber so I'll see how I do, I'd want at least 5,000 out of the rear.

Grinch, I think that's done it's work now :D

Road Attacks it is for my next rear then, My rear's squared off and about to start showing the beading already - can't have done 3,000 miles on it yet (Pilot Sport).

Do it - you wont be disappointed - best mileage/performace tyre I have used and my local bike tyre place sells almost nothing else! lol

Worryingly I get a Road Attack bald by 5.5k... maybe i'm too fat.

That must have been handling like crap!!

Keep a eye on your tyre pressure, if its low your tyre will wear a lot quicker.

I do them pretty regularly... though i do them with the asda air hose - i've checked it a few times with my digital pressure gauge and it's always been spot on.

I want to try out something a bit stickier this summer but have a real worry that i'll wear them out too fast!

Never tried them, looking to get similar mileage from Avon storm ST's though, they stick well and the tyre fitter says pretty much everyone who trys them uses them again.

Tis the excuse I use for them :) lol. My rear is almost bald in centre at 3.5k. I run 36/42, but tried 38/42 the other day and I like.

 I run 33/36 just because that's what's in the manual.

How did you arrive at those pressures?

I like the way my sv turns crisper and sharper at 36/40.

I just noticed that my rear Road Attack is starting to square at just under 4000 miles - I reckon 5-5500 and it will be done... :(

I was sure it wasnt square before todays 270 mile run - maybe when they start to go they go quickly??
