Fitting a L/h clipon bar.

Hi all.

How easy is it to fit a new handle bar?

I'm hoping to replace the L/H clipon bar due to a snaped bar weight screw.

Is it easy to do,? do I just take off the top yoke, and lossen the bar allen bolt and slide up and off, or is there more to it :confused:

I know i've got to take off the leaver and switch gear/ and grip.

Any help if you've done one would be great.

I'm not sure to be honest. Id take the wheel off, then just drop the LHS fork out and hey presto. I'd have thought that removing the top yolk would have been a more tricky job???

Taking off the yoke sounds a lot easier to me than dropping the fork down.

Top yoke off is way easier, that way you can turn the top yoke to get to the clipon locator screw as well. Might even be able to do it without removing fairings

Yeap you have it right, just take the top yoke off and undo the clipon and slide it up (just remember there is bolt that locates the clip on in the right position under the top yoke).

Three bolts and one nut to remove the top yoke and the bar once the gubbins is removed from it. There's no real need to take anything off the other bar as you can lift the yoke enough to slide the old bar off and the new one on. You don't even have to get the front in the air as the bottom yoke is enough to support the bike on its wheels.

Your way is a bit long winded and makes the bike less stable as you're working.

Yeah ok my bad, but having never removed the top yoke before, I was just putting forward how I'd do it. And it isnt even remotely unstable if you use a paddock stand that slots into the bottom yoke!!!
But anyway i'll shut up now. :smt045
