What is that certain something in your garage that now you have it, you find so useful. You would never have thought of buying for yourself.

Yes we all have sockets, spanners, torque wrenches, even compressors, welders etc. But we bought them because we wanted them. Was able to justify because we thought they would be useful etc.

My certain something is a bike grab. I was given it and shoved it in the corner for 2 years before I tried it. Now it is in permanent use. Simply ride the bike in. Get off and it is upright. no more struggling to use a rear paddock stand etc.

Would I have bought one, definitely not. Would I buy one now. Probably not. Do I find it useful, definitely.

Well not tools, but I was given a pair of Vovo kevlar jeans about 5 years ago, and to be honest just dumped them down somewhere and forgot all about them as I didn't consider them "Proper" Bike ware, got the out last year as I couldn't get my leathers over the leg brace, someone suggested a pair of these, which prompted me to dig them out, great bit of kit, I think half of it though is I now ride a good deal more sedately than before for obvious reasons.

Would I have bought a pair, no
would I buy another pair, probably YES, but not as a priority (only after leathers and textiles).

Are they useful, you bet, at least it gives a little more protection when you can't wear leathers and your only other choice would be normal jeans.

Cheers Mark.
