I know a fair few folks use a mini tankbag for odds and ends. The underseat space on my bike is pants, taken up with alarm and Scottoiler - so want a small tank bag to carry tool kit / levers / bulbs / first aid kit (small) / various other bits. Magnetic attachment preferred.

Any particularly good ones?

What bike have you got? I have a mate that uses the space in the fairing under the headlights on his curvy for storing the toolkit, made a strap to hold it all in place.

VFR VTEC (see sig.) hence the pants underseat storage. no room in fairings for anything, seems to be full of radiators, ABS gubbins etc. In fact struggling to find anywhere to put a decent horn.

Yeah, not a very clever idea that from Honda for a sports tourer. Hmm... stick with a littel tank bag then, there is a good one on the market but I can't remember the manufacturer (its got a small orange rectangular badge on it if that helps).

The Oxford tank and tail bag is great: it's got magnets for the tank but comes with straps so you can convert it into a tail bag if you want to reclaim your tank but still carry stuff.

I'd link you to it if Oxford didn't have a name that produces too many irrelevant Google results.

I use the Oxford 2004 Mini Sprint tank bag. Really strong magnets.

It's 'Sportline' made by Hein Gericke , it's not on their website but it's in their 2008 catalogue which is where I saw it. Not used it yet but it seems perfect for your needs..

The bread man is right:p

Lidl usually have bike stuff in around easter. And if it only lasts a year or two - well so what, you've hardly lost anything. I'm waiting for the Lidl stuff too - my D675 has no storage. None at all whatsoever. So I have to travel light...

Got mine from Aldi, it comes in 3 sections and cost 16 squid, bit like Lidl's i think, it just depends who has them in first. the lower part is fairly small.

then they did a full size one for about 15 quid

Yeah, I've got one of these too, it's not very big but it's very handy- holds about 2 500ml bottles of water, frinstance, but not much more. I wouldn't want it as my only tank bag but it's well handy for rideouts etc.
