OK - just posting this so peeps can see date for Plowsie's suggested rideout as mentioned here:
http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=105186
Meeting point is the Vic at Coalville - easy to find (map in thread above). What meeting time? I can get there anytime from about 9am.
Route seems fine to me - diversion for coffee stop at Shell's?
Takers so far seem to be:
Plowsie
Steve God
Shadowgirl4444
Well Oiled
Others?
Cheers Keith

9am would be fine for me! (Although I'm more than happy if others would prefer it later...) :p

How can this be added onto the main Calender? (Only just discovered it!)
I've just tried but it won't let me!

I'll come out to play if you don't mind a H*nda tagging along.
Need to ride my bike a bit more. Apart from work I have been out on it twice in the past year - need to get a life I think.

Guys I now can't make this as I have to go up to Brum with family on the 12th, Nan and Grandad want everyone round for some reason and I have no clue and everyone needs to go. I spoke to gramps and asked him if I could get out of it and he has said he needs to talk to me alone about whatever it is anyway so I have to go :???: Rather confuddled about it all. Was looking forward to seeing whether I had stuck a good route up off improvisations.
Bump for the thread for you all so that maybe a few others go for you :)

I'd 100% still up for it, but is anyone else happy to take over leading the 2nd half of the route that plowsie was going to lead?
I don't mind doing it, but I will make no promises on us not getting lost :p lol

01-04-08, 04:26 PM
I still plan to go, but will need to be back in Derby for about 11:15 so will only do 1st half. Don't mind leading that bit.

Time / Starting Point:
8:45 - Arrive and natter...
9:00 - Depart
We will hang around till 9:15 for those on the above list to turn up. If you are planning to come and haven't shown an interest, say now! :)
We will be meeting at 'The Victoria' pub, Whitwick Road, Coalville, LE67 3FA.
(If you're not sure where this is, or how to get there, pm me!)
Route:
Same as Plowsie first suggested: http://tinyurl.com/3ayrux
With the addition of possibly stopping at Shells for tea/coffee/bacon butties?
I don't know where Shells is, so Shell, you'll have to either come along, or give one of us directions before Saturday :)
See you there!

07-04-08, 11:55 AM
Added both of you! :)
If you think you might get lost, I can pm my mobile number for on the day directions! Although it's an easy place to get to.
From Long Eaton, there's a nice route through the lanes... off the motorway at 23a past East Mids Airport, through Tonge, through Griffydam, through Swannington, and then you pop out on the A511 at Coalville, take a left at that roundabout, then take a right at the second roundabout (you'll see a big Morrisons), and the Vic will be on your left roughly 300m down the road.
If you're in a rush, take the A42 and then the A511, then take a right when you see Morrisons. (Could also go via the M1/A511 too)

If its a link pipe to put a standard can back on you need, I think I've got one you can have. (just been out to the garage - the pipe is 116mm long and 54mm internal diameter stainless steel - I don't have any clamps)
It's several years since I used it, but if you want to give it a try you are welcome to it.
I think I'm not too far from you so if you're interested PM me your phone number and we can sort it.

If anyone else is bringing a GPS here is a tomtom itinerary of the route. Just rename from .txt to .itn and copy into the itn folder.

If you are using a GPS other than Tomtom, then Google for ITNconv - this is program which will convert it to most GPS formats.

Kwak, I have had to send my blueflame back to be rebuilt. It sounded as loud with the baffles in as it did when i first got it with them out completely. I think all the packing inside must have got fried and knackered after a hard day riding a weel or so ago ;) wanted it done asap before the nice weather comes in and incase it was decided that it was to loud for certain trackdays :(

Thanks all for a great day. Special thanks to Shellywoozle for the coffee and biccies, and to Well Oiled for the obstacle course element of the ride home - is that something they teach you on the IAM rides? :)
I've got a few pics which I will stick in the photosection later.
And would you believe the bl**dy GPS decided to start working again on the way home. I think I understand the problem - it only works on roads I already know.:smt102
