hi everyone

Got the sv back on the road on saturday after winter storage,so should have been a great day...unfortunately turned out to be a bad day.

On saturday evening i received a phone call from my dad telling me my grandad had just passed away,he was 93.

It was,nt really an illness he had,i guess old age just caught up with him,but to get a call like that really knocked me sideways hence why it's taken me 3 days to post this.Iknow your grandad is supposed to be your 2nd dad but really he was as when my parents split up when i was 9 we went to live with him for a while but ended up staying there for 12yrs(talk about overstaying your welcome)so between the ages of 9/21 he played a big part in my upbringing and believe me i was'nt the easiest of kids.

So here's to you grandad thanks for everything you ever did for me ,you really was a GRANDdad and you will be sorely missed i will never forget you,i will see you again on friday when i lay you to rest.

love you always........Heath xx

i know exactly how you feel, as i lost my grandad about 6 weeks ago at the age of 94. it's always sad but take a minute to appreciate what a good run he had and remember the good times:)

I know how you feel kind of, I was brought up single handedly by my gran from about 7 years until 14 or so, she has long gone but I wonder if I'll ever be able to thank her.

My gran played a huge part in my life, i knew her better than i know my mother by all accounts, so i was left a bit lost when she died last year. I still talk to her daily though (!) At least we've been lucky enough to have grandparents- I've never met my mums parents, some people never meet theirs..

Sorry to read this. Rest in peace.

some people never meet theirs..

I've never met my mum's mum as she died a month before I was born. Not really had the luxury of grandparents (I don't see other grandparents I have) but I know how much a part they can play in your life and how much they are sorely missed when they go.

No doubt you've enjoyed the times you have had and those memories will always remain with you. All you can do now is enjoy the rest of your life and make him proud :smt001
