I have just been reading the small print of my insurance, especially the breakdown cover included.
It looks like they will only take me/bike to the nearest garage in the event that it cannot be fixed at the roadside, Not recover the bike to my home. For that I need a different level of cover.
So useless. OK, it was bundled, but now it looks like I need to source an recovery service. Any recommendations?

I think there was a DAS one that was quite reasonable.
I had an experience of bundled car assistance today when my SEAT lost an ignition coil. More Than sent a recovery truck and the guy said 'what garage then?' to which I replied 'are you not even going to see if it is something simple?' (it wasnt but could have been). So there, next time I am going to forget looking for inclusive deals and just go back to a stand alone assistance I think. I would ratehr be attended by someone who will see if they can get me going rather than not even want to look under the bonnet.
Ok, I guess the flipside is not wasting time and having to get another truck called in when they cant fix it, i.e usually.

T, Check to see if your car one covers, failing that I have cancelled all my individual vehicle covers and taken out a personal cover which means whatever I'm driving or riding I have beakdown and recovery to home or garage nominated by me. Not cheap about ?95ish but for me peace of mind and only ?10 more than the other three together.

Try NCI, they where bike specialists but do cars as well. Wife had a policy with them that covered her for any vehicle she was driving including vans. Used them once and where very good. They are based near me and their staff ride bikes, one lad had a SP1!
