can anyone tell me what the parking's like near Winchester street (or Pennyfarthing Street to be exact) as i need to go there at the week end.
also would it be best to take the bike over the car? I've never been there before so i don't know what the roads and traffic is like ect

There are a few car parks in the area - Salt lane, Market square and others however both quite expensive for a car. personally i would always take the bike into town. There's also a very annoying one way system that you have to get into to get to winchester St. There is bike parking at all car parks.

Salisbury is a pretty safe city in comparison but then you get the odd p*** head who might knock over you bike, like anywhere.
Winchester street is pretty Ok, like Liz said its a nightmare to find if not from the area as the one way system was designed by four year olds.
What are you doing in Salisbury then, most people try an avoid it. :)

so if im going up the A36, then onto Churchill way and turn off onto Bedwin street, would i then be going the wrong way onto the one way system?
this place sounds backwards :smt101
