Looks like us poor Virgin customers will miss this...and all because Murdoch and Branson had a lovers tiff.
Pity what the customers want doesn't count anymore.

Looks like a good cast, including David Jason, Sean Astin, Tim Curry and Christopher Lee (voicing Death).
BTW - Murdoch doesn't really have much to do with Sky any more. Rupert has retired and his son James has recently left Sky for another News Corp job. So this is the first time in Sky's history when it hasn't been controlled directly by the Murdoch family.

Besides Sky were the money behind this (following the success of Hogfather a Christmas ago)
So we shoudl THANK Sky for making this.
Not sure of Sean Astin as Twoflower
I alwasy thought of him as the Discworld equivilent of Japanese, not American.

Read the 'Letter from Terry' (under Pratchett's Thoughts) on the web site:
Keen fans will say "Yes, but isn't Sean Astin not really very, you know, Oriental enough?" Observant fans though, will know that Twoflower was merely exotically foreign until Interesting Times and Sean told me years ago that he wanted to be in a Discworld movie and so we decided that West Coast American is exotic enough!
I'm not keep on the casting of Rincewind though, I would have thought Nicholas Lyndhurst would have been closer.
ooh good choice - or the chap that does the BT ads...

David Jason
Or Nigel Planer (who's also in it).
He's probably a bit too old to play Rincewind. I guess that they chose him because he's very famous and popular, he's a big fan of Terry Pratchett and he really wanted the part.
I'll defer judgement until I see it.
Its going to be odd as he also played Albert, but also David Jason is too old, as Rincewind is meant to be 25-35 something from what I can work out.
Mmmm the trademark sprint start at any sign of trouble should be interesting...
Yes that sound be very interesting.
