I would like a new hugger for my bike, one that will protect the rear shock a bit more from crap.

Whats the best ones to go for? Are the ones with the chain gaurds alright?

Red Fox Matt.

Cheapish, good quality and fit. And they don't do them in yellow! :D

FYI NWS bike body work business was bought by Pyramid Plastics, who continue to manufacture and market the NWS body stuff. Just in case anyone says NWS no longer trading, you need to contact Pyramid Plastics. (I know all this cos I bought an NWS hugger from the Pyramid guys at the NEC...)

I bought a Pyramid hugger and it does the job.

I'm after a hugger for my black pointy...can't decide so it's between these (the NWS ones are a bit too pricey). I like the look of the Red Fox and Pyramid, but the Pyramid looks like it might give just a little more protection as it looks to go further over the rear than the Red Fox.

Any thoughts?

I would say Pyramid Plastics as they extend below the swingarm, protection for the linkages, and they come the best colour matched along with OEM.

that hugger you've got Dave is really sexy. Shame they don't make it for Pointies. The ones for pointies look crap!

I do like the pyramid huggers...

the more I look around the better it looks when compared to other manufacturers, but the one for the curvy is minimalist and lovely. I don't know why I'm just not smitten with huggers for the pointy.

maybe I'm just being too picky....

This is why I think they are the best hugger for the Curvy SV, plus they offer protection for the suspension linkages too.

I don't like these type, they look ridiculous...

it does look daft, but I bet it works really well and catches no end of crud, and helps keep your feet dry.

I think I'll end up going with the Pyramid one, it's the best looking one of the bunch, but that's not saying much....

i remember when they were about £50 unless you wanted it in carbon. then bikes got popular and the price goes through the roof.

Or am i just looking back on the early 90's with rose-tinted contact lenses?

Red Fox used to offer a 10% discount for mentioning this site, I know this as I negotiated it when I bought one for my K5 and ended up sending it back to be redesigned as it was modelled on the K3 bike. I don't know if they still honour this though, as I only bought the one....

I've just got my first bike - a 2007 registered SV650S SK6. I was looking to put a hugger on. I noticed some manufacturers need the toolbox to be removed before it will fit correctly.

Could anyone recommend a make that fits while the toolbox is still attached ? (I kinda like the idea of having them there in case of emergency...)

Anyone know if these do the job ?

Thnk you are talking Undertrays --- removing toolkits, dont know of any hugger that would need you to do that.:)

Definitely a hugger...

Follow the very long link, and the red fox one comes with a disclaimer, in the additional information - just wondered if this was a common thing with all makes of hugger on this model, or just the red fox one ?

I genuinely still cant see why, I presume your toolkit is in the same place as every other japanese bike I have owned -- under the seat.

My curvy has a pyramid hugger and looks great. :D

Whats the best hugger for a K6 SV? I have a power bronze which I'm going to send back it doesn't fit my bike properly at all. I don't mind paying a bit for one, long as its fits. Cheap cack doesn't seem to work.

Hi, I have fitted a Red Fox carbon effect to my K9 recently, there is a thread with photo's. Very pleased with the fitment although I messed about fitting it, it only took about 45 minutes, nice finish and good value, service from the manufacturers excellent.
