...they are so well made - no nasty casting marks, no unfinished rough edges, and whilst they're tight they fit beautifully. Needs two people to do it, as getting the engine bolts out is a fiddly job. John did most of it, he's a wiz with a torque wrench and a set of spanners, and has every toolknown to man, so thanks John:p

This is what's in the box:

Right fairing off. Bike's mucky cos it rained yesterday and got covered in salty spray from the road. Needs a wash, didn't have time. This bike's for riding, not for polishing

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a127/Sythree/IMG_0913.jpg

The idea is that you don't drill the fairing. So you put a mount onto the engine - the longer bolts supplied with the kit bolt into the engine bolt points, and the slider then screws into the mount.

Left mount done, fairing back on:

More detailed view of the right side. This next shot is with an engine bolt out. Getting this bolt out is a right fiddly job, you need two pairs of hands, as there's a retaining nut somewhere in behind. It needs a 13 (from memory) spanner to hold it, so you need to hold that (and it's an awkward reach) at the same time as pulling hard on the bolt to unscrew.

The other bolt is easier as there's no nut on the far side. This is John giving it wellie:

Mount on:

Here's John doing up the lower fairing clips:

Job done!!!!:

We put on some paddock stand bobbins at the same time, they simply screw into the frame, easy peasy:

Huge thanks again, John, for doing it and for giving up your Sunday morning:D

It really is a very handsome bike. Reminded my of the special Ducati 916 called the Senna S, probably because of the colour.

You must do a lot of motorway miles on that. Do you commute on it?

Darren, it's only a week old!!!! The tyres are Supercorsas and have no tread at the edge, they are a bit slippy in the wet and as it's been cold and oh so wet I haven't leaned the bike. But come a bit warmer weather I will be trying 'em out properly:D

And kwak, the swingarm is now pristine once more:p

S'OK Ed, I can beat that... new tyre fitted yesterday, rained on the way back from the tyre place, only done 60 odd miles on a Diablo Corsa III... they have a bit more tread to the edge mind..

Hey Ed,

How come you went for the T3's? I was going to order the GSG's from the states, but now I'm curious why you chose these instead?

Thanks
Luke

Actually they're very similar design, what swung it was that (a) the GSGs have a silver mount, the T3s have a choice of black or silver, and as I have a graphite bike black was the better option, and (b) they're British.

Is that the Kriega US 20 on that tripple? i have just ordered one and it looks plenty big enough for weekend trips if it is the 20.

oh and the bike looks good as well. I wont comment on the strips as mine is not much better wit hrunning it in during the cold and wet winter.

good it loks plenty big enough for NW3 and that and one of their back packs will do me for AR08. Also if i want to go further afield i can add the US10 to it or another US20.
