I've got this problem with wind. The cover on my bike keeps blowing off and I'm getting tired of finding the bike uncovered every morning. It's only a cheap Lidl cover and it getting a bit tatty. So I'm looking to replace it with something a bit better. Any recommendations for covers that won't
blow away during the night? The Oxford Stormex looks good, but's a bit pricy at £60 (from Infinity). Is it worth the dosh?

Before I got my Bike Safe I used a cover at home. It didn't have any form of fastening on it.

I ran gaffa tape along the bottom of it, then punched holes in it (gaffa was to try and stop it ripping - which it did). I then used bungee straps throung the holes, round pegs etc to secure it. I never lost it after that :-D

If the wind is enough to blow the cover off it is enough to blow the bike over. I would be leaving the cover off in extremely windy conditions, might be wet but still in one piece.

Clothes line, the cheapy plastic stuff - works a treat to tie it with. ive got the cheap lidl cover and theres nowt wrong with it, my cousing bought a so called expensive one (oxford, silver colored) one winter later and he takes it off only to find it had cracked and rain got into the top of the bike and the chains all rusted!

Oxford stormex, bit pricy, but a click strap goes under the bike and a lot of sown eyelets to put a chain threw.

Cheers Mark.

Id advise not using the cover in windy conditions, last night the wind was so bad the cover was basically a parachute and pulled over my dad's fully fueled 1200 Triumph Trophy!! Now he needs a new indicator, fairing and screen (i was sensible and put my SV in the shed hours before :D

i use a lintek(£39.99)it has a strap which you buckle underneath the bike to stop it blowing about, also it has 2 ridges at each side of the handle bars so any wind that gets underneath just blows out again.Another thing i do just to be safe is put a bit of duck tape down where the sidestand is and then attach a spring jawed clamp onto it(the sidestand bit where you kick it up)the duck tape is to stop any rips or tears with stress from the wind,it does work.hth.

I've got a Motrax deluxe cover that's doing the trick- again it has a buckle underneath that is quite sturdy.

Though my bike is parked in the alley by my flats- so it's placed along the wind, instead of across it, to prevent the bike being blown over...

My son has 2 of these

and he swears by them. They seem to be very thin, but they have a hook & eye set up so that you can tie the cover under the bike. They dont blow off.

I'd love a shed, but I live in a block of flats. I might try one of those Argos covers.

I have two covers at the moment, the MotoGP outdoor cover (got it for free) and an Oxford outdoor cover. If you fasten them at the bottom it stops them from blowing off or blowing over the bike (wind does not get up underneath and turn them into sails). For added security for bikes out of wind protection, try wedging a piece of wood on the right hand side as another sort of side stand. This will stop the bike from wobbling.
