im want to put a full fairing on my sv when i get it in the summer and was wondering what rac rep's colour schemes people like/ have done themselves, being an sv it should be a suzuki race rep but i have seen a xerox ducati sv before so dont let that hold u back.

this is the fairing i want http://www.kompo-tech.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=26_60&products_id=247

i wana c lots of pics so i can see how well they would fit on the fairing

there's a prize for the best (not really :p)

You really shouldn't!

The SV isn't a sports bike and IMO looks a bit cack when it pretends to be.

reli, i like the fairing, dont like lower kits as they have them uge lines across the middle, ignore the fact its an sv, what race rep colours look nice

I've always liked either the Rizla Suzuki or the Camel Yamaha.

I don't think i'd want it on one of my bikes though. Looks a bit brash/tacky in the real world. Also if you have an off then a cheap fix suddenly becomes a lot more expensive.

Thinking about it i've always liked the Rizla colours, but in green insted of blue. Its different.....

I stand by my initial point though. Save the lairy schemes for the track. :smt045

I'd probably agree with the Rizzla colours - If YOU really want to have race colours etc then go for it, don't be discouraged JUST because its an SV etc. they can look plenty sporty enough - especiallly the later models!
However the Suzuki colours have always been blue / white etc but how about going a slightly differnt path such as a special GSXR colour scheme? Crescents did have a nice GSXR 1000 in a rather special sparkly orange / black scheme - standard but not in this country. That way you avoid the full on race rep branding (which isn't always so great on the road), but still end up with a special SV. Seen the Rizzla SV 1000's before and although the scheme is good it isn't that well suited to the road.
Or another flash - how about the older GP schemes such as lucky strike??!!! Could be interesting as everyone goes for modern branding these days how about some heritage with a modern twist? If you can you should get down to Crescents main showroom in Verwood they have alot of the old bikes there.

Just a thought.

Carl.

Fizzy Fish used to have a rather nice rizla curvy... It's not something I'd do myself but if you like it, why not? It's your bike.

I'd go with the old GP Pepsi or Lucky Strike jobs if I had to do a Suzuki race rep...

If I had a Honda, it'd be in HM Plant colours though, I reckon.

That's the pic i sent to the sprayer when my SV was re-sprayed, fantastic colour! I've got the green but none of the decals as i thought it would look a bit rubbish

Classic suzuki colour scheme

I have to disagree with the H*nda colours though. It's got to be the smokin' joes colour scheme

Black/Red scheme on the top left piccy at: http://www.gixerjunkies.net/gallery/showgallery.php/cat/830 is nice. Looks expensive though too.

love the sheene rep!!!

do you recon it would work on a curvy tho?, another 1 i like that no one has picked up on is a TAS rellentless suzuki one, durbs i like that colour scheme but there's tooooo much happening at once on it, i prefer it a lil simpler.

on a cheers jester for movin the thread,

Personally i wouldn't give it a race rep paint scheme, the SV isn't a race bike and the scheme wouldn't suit the shape. I went through this when I got my 2wheeljunkies fairing and opted instead to paint it in the OEM colour, Pearl Canyon Yellow all over. It looks good in plain colours and suits the bike and shape, similar to the 916/999/1098 as they look best in one colour!

As for the Kompo-Tech plastics, beware the quality isn't great!!!

Dont get a Race Rep Colour whats the point if your going to get it sprayed do a custom jobby like Northwinds or get it sprayed a colour like no other SV like Pink if your into that thing lol Only jokin :D But a race rep colour is bit much for an SV i think.. Trying to be something its not IMO.

Dangerous Dave

From a resale point of view, its easier to sell a non-race rep as the SV ain't a race rep bike! Personally I think it looks stupid if it hasn't been used on an actual race bike of the same make (i.e. HM plant colours should only be seen on 04-07 Blades and 600 RR's).

And why pay all that money to advertise other people's products?

That street fairing is quite nice- though I'm sure a bit of a palaver when it comes to checking the oil...

Id say that its up to you really. While it might not be everyones taste, resale time, someone might just be looking for something like that and yours will be pretty unique as not many do them. On the flip side, it could be quite a hard seller, all depends on who is looking to buy.

Smart A***!!! :smt045 Ok yes it is a race bike but what I meant is it isn't a race rep bike. Why put a WSB/BSB/MotoGP livery on a sports tourer, it just looks wrong.

It would be lovely to see a gixxer thou power ranger getting skinned by a tourer.

I've always fancied finding a way to make a chop go round a corner and go and embarras some race rep riders.

There's brilliant youtube vids of a guy absolutely tearing through Deal's Gap on a wing... Guarantee you he's faster than I would be on anything. Not by a small amount either.

Thats exactly what i thought! Sure the car driver could have pulled over, but they are not obligated to.

I do think its a brilliant bit of footage though, the fact that not only can they not turn for ****, but the second one follows the first one.

Highly amusing yes, but read the big arguement in the comments. "Funny as f###" doesn't do it justice.

I was about to say the inevitable harley vs sports bike arguments are good. I like this comment:

"you know the difference between a harley and a hoover? the dirt bag is on the inside of a hoover"

LMFAO

Edit- it gets better:

" I WANT A DESERTED PLACE WHERE I CAN HAVE MY WAY WITH YOU "

I saw a 1300 Pan Euro making mincemeat of some sports bikes at Rockingham last year. Me and a couple of the instructors were commenting on his bolt upright riding style when his mate informed us that he's done 20 odd years as a class 1 police rider. He was mentally rapid.
