tomorow the engine is comeing out
drain the oil, coolant, get the carbs and air filter off, and then have fun trying to get the engine out.
Will be picking the new engine up tomorow,
to get it in that state took about 8 hours total...

Some serious work there, but looks like you got the ideal place to do it. Nice garage :0
Hope it all comes together ok.

Am I missing something here? I thought you were doing an engine swap, why is the back wheel removed and what you been doing for two days :smt102
Or is it being used as an excuse to do loads of other stuff you haven't got around to as well ?
Cheers Mark.

YChris stripped my bike down in less than a day, it vanished before my eyes. Apart from the really ceased stuff that took days to hammer into shape!!
what none of the guys know is that there was no nice birdy to make all your cups of tea, and, you had to go make them all yourself, thus it took longer than expected!!!

okay a bit of an update over the last several days.
Glad to say the engine is in and runing. YAY!!
was in and running on saturday, over sunday, and untill wednesday, i will be polishing the forks, already primered up all the fairings, fixed the masive dent in the tank.
So not much to post until I've finished the respray, and they need 62 hours to dry apparently. Going away for easter will be back next tuesday so the paint will have dried and then i can just bolt it all back on.
this is the old engine still in:

At first glance i thought the forks were rather shiny, did you cheat and use a machine or did you do it the hard way like me??? They appear to be a bit scored or is it the light? Its good is this polishing lark isn't it?
Are you going to polish owt else??? like the rims? They look nice if you do em right, my black bike has them, in fact my black bike is all shiny, especially the down pipe.......its the shiniest downpipe on the org.........sorry i've com over all OCD...........
must doooooo more polishing:pwheres the dremel:D

i used a DA:silent: then used some 400 and 1200 to get rid of the scratches...
we can do anything really, setting up a proper garage down there, we have a proper spray shop, bike ramps and about 10 grand worth of tools including welding guns, air tools etc.
so in answer to your question, yes, if your serious pm me.
Sorry to revive an old thread but what did you replace the foam air filter with and did the bike need much tweaking?
