How on earth did he manage to get away with that? People have been given long bans for far less.

"as he reached speeds of up to 88mph. " perhaps he went back in time to before he got cought
Judge Barbara Mensah said: "Offences of this nature divert valuable police time, where officers could be investigating serious offenders and offences.
The judge has just siad that speeding isn't a serious crime by this statement, If I ever get busted I will quote her!

Well, it makes a change to top police officers getting away with "testing" their vehicles at high speeds on public roads.
Still, thats a very stupid thing to do - 88mph in a 30mph zone? tut tut

Sending him to prison probably wouldn't have been the best thing for his daughter, unless he's a cr*p father. Don't understand why he wasn't given some form of penalty on his license like a driving ban as well as his suspended sentence. Would it have been treated as a criminal case not just dangerous driving?

OK, BB, each to their own mate. I agree there's some pompous arses behind the speed cameras and stuff, and I think a lot of ordinary, realistic, down to earth folk feel the same, but still don't think this guy would get much support from those same folk.

Cautiously agree, dependant on whether the limit is appropriate for the circumstances - far, far too many limits nowadays aren't - which breeds contempt and non compliance with those that are.
