Right can I presume that every one knows about the ?30 plus bank letter about your ?5 overdraft, and how thousands of people have claimed it back from the robbing gits,as an exesive charge.Be aware, some of them have changed their tactics to get over this.
I let my son use a spare account that I had,for his wages, untill he could get his own set up.He now has his own up and running so I went into the bank in the week to transfer his funds across to his own account.I left ?20 in the account to cover any late payments he had made, and left it at that.
Yesterday I received a letter saying that I was 9p overdrawn and that the following charges would now apply.
?15 a month for an Unplanned overdraft
Less than ?25 overdrawn........?6 a day cost
?25 to ?100 overdrawn..........?15 a day cost
more than ?100....................?20 a day

9p overdrawn had cost me ?33.00 in 3 days

what the **** do they think they are playing at.
I have 3 buissness acounts and various other accounts with thousands going through everweek ,and they still try to rip me off.
Lucky for me I have the direct number for the senior account manager ,so a phone call put it right,But they were very good at making it look like they were doing me a favour.
today I will mostly be moving banks

I thought the people behind the counter at my local bank were looking younger these days - but that is just rediculous.

Yep, always been very good.

Once they even spotted a fraudulent transaction on my account and began the process of refunding me before I'd even noticed it myself.

I'm one of the few people who is happy with Barclays, but then again I never go overdrawn. They spotted fraudulent transactions on my account two weeks ago and immediately cancelled my card and contacted me, a new card arrived the next day, I filled in a simple form and was credited the full amount 3 days later.

I used to work for First Direct a long time ago. They were so customer service focused, nothing is ever too much trouble etc. I still bank with them now - but sometimes it helps to have a little insider knowledge! :D

As for charges with them - I remember people used to phone up and say, "About this fee for going over my overdraft....". The rep on the phone would just refund it, and politely ask them to keep an aye on things in the future!

Also, I just remortgaged and went with them - purely for the reason they had the best deal - not because they were my bank. The whole process was so easy. All I had to do was sign a few forms etc, and they totally did the rest. Then they sent me a text advising me it was all up and running!

If you are thinking of switching banks, give them a go. But I don't think they do business accounts.

How many people K? Are you trying to tell us something

I just got stung for ?30 for a bounced DD. At the time, they stated that as soon as it shows on my account, call them, and as a goodwill gesture, they'll refund it. So i called, i asked, the computer said no! What a crock!

Nationwide...proud to be the same as any other bank!
