Hi all

Having been off bikes for a much longer period than i'd anticpated (extended by a big mounting bike neck injury four years ago) i have to say it's good to be alive again.

It's taken a little while to get my confidence back riding through winter, but i just couldn't bring myself to wait for summer. It would have been easier if i hadn't lost my job before buying any leathers, boy has it been chilly! Start new job a week monday though so i should be kitted out for the good weather.

Only problem now is that none of my friends ride anymore. :(

None of your old friends you mean.:) Lots of new friends on here you just haven't met them yet.

Well i didn't actually break mine, more crushed my spinal cord when a disk slipped all the way across, plenty of embarrising blackouts (and thus a medical driving ban) and lots of numbness rather than pain. But the crash hurt!

welcome.

Don't worry about keeping up on rideouts, we tend to be very chilled out and noone minds waiting for less mental folk.

If I ever make it to a ride-out, Im sure I'd probably be in the slowest 5% of the riders there.

It aint about how fast you go, its about how much fun your having...i dunno about you, but I dont have a lot fo fun when I'm right on my limit trying to keep up with people (because I dont knwo where I'm supposed to be going...once I recognise a place, I'll slow down and ride comfortably)

Welcome matey. As others have said, SV rideouts tend to be paced so most can keep up. If you wanna go fast you can, just don't end up sliding into someone's garden like I did last year!
