View Full Version : Sitting around, doing f-all
la la laaa la la la la...
10 hours at work time left, yabbadabbodoooooooooo. Sitting around, mincing and seeing what stationary I can take with me
God I can't wait to leave :D
Lucky you :)
Dont forget to get the stationery sent home to you.
Never leave the building with it in pockets or cases, box it up and have the firm's courier company deliver it.
Pens and such, already got.
Not taking any software or license codes, not worth if it gets traced back.
DOn't really need anything from here tbh. Little hub might go missing though

How will it get traced back? Get all the licence codes put on bittorrent!! ;)
Seriously not worth it. Huge law firm, always checking up licenses as they got investigated.
For a bit of software, it isn't worth it.
Although i wouldn't mind taking Dreamweaver with me
In that case.....hardware it is! If you're any good, you'll have stashed it all before handing in your notice!
(Seriously folks, I know I'm new here....I'm just joking)
Nahh, I done that once when I was younger. Tried to take a PC home in bits over time as it sat around for for months.
Then that Friday, they asked where that PC was. I have never been so scared (i was about 19). I shot off home, came in VERY early monday, rebuilt the PC, took it upstairs saying it was hidden behined some boxes, got some weird looks.
Never again, not worth it. I was lucky, scared me not into doing that again.
(as he sits here with a bright orange vest for the fire marshall people to use). Meh thats ok.
And the last one today :D No more city
No more city commute
No more pedestrians running out in front (might get a rabbit, ro fox or something though now  )
No more 60 miles per day
No more smog covered face in the mornings
No more ignorent arrogent attention whoare yuppies
(No more fit honies to perve over :( )
No more easy access to fast food
But a simpler happier life with more prospects. Can't believe i start tomorrow... :D

Well I suppose as its your last day I should ask if you want to say hello over a coffee - seeing as how close our workplaces are :)
Lemme know if you have time :)

So where abouts in the city are you?
I used to spend alot of time in Finsbury Circus, and now Knightsbridge. Should be down there next week again.
And where is the new job? Come on man...details! :D
In Moorgate.
New job is near maidstone doing IT. Get full exposure, SQL, networks, servers, web design, citrix, cctv, bluetooth and wireless stuff.
I posted about it before, but basically taking ?5k paycut, 30min extra per day, but on 12 miles each way instead of 27. In the country opposed to the city.
Taking half step back to take 5 steps forward within a few months.
Will get more work related stress, but thats better than the emotional and worthlessness stress i've had here. Got to the stage of "money isn't everything"
And i've just turned 27...
Good for you geezer. Once you have the new skills you can then get back in the city! :)
Money isn't everything - but it does pay for things like rearsets, end cans, resprays - even new bikes!:smt003
Cling film the toilets and leave a sardine hidden in your old office/workplace!
ha ha, the thoughts have all been there..
But its a big company here, and im a professional. I did have a big assed "whinge at management in front of 100 IT people" planned, but I may need the reference, and you never know what the future holds.
I've got my revenge in my own little ways anyway :) Like sitting on my backside for a fair while (no official role since i come back from secondment), sitting on IE, browsing for jobs, whilst at work, and generally not doing my, and being paid a good salary for doing so.
Sod em, won't have to worry as from 5pm anyway :D
Just called my new company to confirm my start tomorrow. They seemed VERY impressed that I called in advance. Maan if that professional aspect impresses them, im hoping to do very well
No, never impress in the first few months, act dumb and request help, even when you don't need it. Make other people look clever and they'll love you. Make them feel stupid and inadequate, they'll write your mobile number on the cubicle wall of a local public toilet...
 Good way of thinking, i'll remember to tame it back a little ;) But not too much. Small IT team, so will be good to impress.
Its my professional side that I will impress on, i still need a lot of technical skills to learn so in that aspect, i will be playing the dumb (or not actually playing as it were) Damien

Also establish a routine where you only do half the volume of work you could do in a day.
Then when they ask you to pull something special out of the bag in a a short period of time, you have the time to manage to appear like a miracle worker.
Also never deliver something that is being measured against a deadline more than 1 day early.
Or you could just be yourself!
Lou
Or you could just be yourself!
That idea is so crazy it just might work!!
All the best for your new job, D:D
