Just had the 11000 service done on the SV. Ive riden about 50 miles and had a look over it and the chain is loose (looser than before it went in) and the cluth lever dosent bite right away. Leaves me to think neither were adjusted! should i be worried?

If you're not happy then take it back. Any garage worth their salt should rectify the problems FOC.

In the future have a quick look/fiddle at the garage.

Never got to the garage, used AMS and their free pick up service after recomendations off here.

Have a read in the TV section. AMS might not be as good as initial reports suggested. They had Nicks bike for i think 3 weeks or something ridiculous!

The guy kept coming up with excuse after excuse about why he hadn't done the work or returned the bike when he said he would.

It took a week to deal with a seized bolt!

I was going to give them a try after Dan/Nick initially recommended them, however the more i hear about them the more they seem a cowboy outfit. They arn't going anywhere near my bike any time soon.

There are some things you could consider, is the chain now at the right tension and is the clutch lever set up correctly now? There should be a tiny amount of free travel in the clutch lever before it starts to engage, only a tiny amount though!

I always pick my bikes up from a service and have a look over it before riding away, if I have any questions I pop in and ask the service girl if I can have a chat to the mechanic about what has been done etc.

My bike is fine, although they didn't adjust the chain for me. TBH I don't expect a a garage to do that on a service and it's so easy to do it yourself anyway. That being said it was very cheap at AMS so I'm not sure the components were great!

Should be 10 - 15mm of free play measured at the end of the clutch lever. :)

Also, how bad is your chain for wear, did you regularly lube it etc before.
Only asking because on another bike I didn't look after the chain too well and when it started ti die it went downhill very quickly.

I've found that my chains do that with a scottoiler fitted.

With my scottoiler I have noticed that hardly any lube gets to the inside edge of the chain. Slightly worried about that,

You can get a dual injector from scottoiler if it really worries you

Or............get rid of the scottoiler and lube it yourself once a week. :flower:
