I test rode a lovely 06 CBR 600F the other day, which I really liked. Also rode the RR afterwards which was amazing, but felt a bit too cramped. So the F would be perfect if it wasn't for that banana seat, which I hate. I want one with a stepped single style seat. As far as I know I've not seen any of those available for the F version as a replacement.
Anyway, onto my main question if anyone knows. I know here are differences cosmetically, and slightly with the engine. But is the seating position, pegs etc different to the F?
Thanks,
David

You can buy seat cowls, not often very good looking (I have one) that make it more single seat like, but your only other option is to acquire an F-Sport subframe/rear end and attach it to your F (it's fairly simple I gather).
I don't think the position or the pegs are different between the F and FS, but the F has a centre stand where the F-Sport doesn't. There might be a couple of other differences like colours.

This is true, the whole subframe will need to be replaced and so to the tail light, plastics and seats!
As for the differneces it was mainly down to gearing, the FS had differnet sprocket sizes a differnent frame colour (I think on some models) and a different cplour fork lower. Other than that they are the same machine engine wise and chassis wise.

That's good news, thanks guys. I'll keep looking for FS models then as I couldn't live with that banana seat. It was weird when I test rode the 600F with that style. Found myself moving further back than I wanted instead of hitting a step. lol
Same engine.
Different suspension settings and gearing
F model has a centre stand
I have an F sport and when it was stock it was the nicest bike I have ever ridden.

I have a red 2001 F Sport tailpiece in as new condition here. No seats or anything else just the tailpiece.
How much you want for it?
