I'm off to the lakes from Yorkshire this weekend with my gf for a few days. I can't decide whether we should go on the bike or in the car. For the bike, I have that it will be quicker, probably more fun and that the original plan was to go on two wheels. In favour of the car I have that it is forecast to be wet and windy at times, and cold with overnight frosts.

I don't mind riding in wet weather, but would rather not freeze all weekend. My gf has left the decision up to me, but I'd also prefer not to be whinged at all weekend about being cold.

What do I do?

If she gets wet and cold - then you'll have a rubbish time take the car and enjoy your weekend!!!

It's forecast for wintery showers and wind all weekend up here, car if you have the GF in tow.

Forecast up there is dry Saturday and Monday. Odd shower on Sunday and tomorrow for the way up. Given we're not planning on being out on the bike all day every day, and that it looks dry in the main, I think I'll probably go for it, unless it is really bad tommorow morning. She is quite happy to go on the bike.
