Buster's have these at ?110 for a 120 front/180 rear fitment!
I need to replace the tyres on the CBR600F...now this is a commuter - but I want to take it on track (hopefully next month dependent on finances).
I did a quick search and it sounds like these tyres are good enough on track - shout if that's not right though! - but will they be OK for an all-weather commuter as well? Varying posts saying "crap in wet" and "good in wet" on the forum, so I dunno...
P.s. here's the link: http://www.busters-accessories.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=D208RR

I have a 208 (not an RR though) on the back of my ZX7 and it's fine in the dry but rubbish in the damp/wet.
The RR is a more 'tracky' version IIRC so it'll probably be even more polar in its opposites.

Hrm, what about the BT-014/BT-015? It would involve a bit of swapping around but if the D208RR is good for dry days only but the BT-014/BT-015 is good all round, might be able to do something there.

the 0-15 are standard fitment to my Kwak and i have had no problems with them ridded them in cold and wet conditions and they felt fine to me.

My lad has used 208RR on his CBR Race bike. They are very sticky, warm up quickly & if your looking at putting them on a CBR, quick wearing (depending on how you ride).
I had D208R on my SV, they were fantastic in the dry with plenty of grip, but only lasted about 3000 miles before being kn@ckered. I would think RRs would wear out faster as they are a softer compound.

Good to know...I have tried the BT-014 before but only from April-September so no rain really (despite British weather's attempts).
The tyres will be loose if bought from Busters...so how much should I pay to get them fitted if I ride in, and if I bring the wheels in separately?
What about if I had to get them to take the tyres off another bike, put them on the CBR, and then mount the RR's on the other bike (god this is getting complicated)?

Personally(and i know most people seem to agree with this statement) the BT014s are petty poor in the wet/cold. They also wear really quickly. I might consider using them if i used the bike on sunny weekends, but not for a commuter. They will square off in a heart beat.

I raced my SV K3 on D208RR's only last weekend. They were superb in wet, damp and virtually dry conditions in the cold. Good enough to get me a second place finish so cant be that bad ;)
After about 50 miles of very hard track riding the tyres looked as if they were still brand new with very light usage.
Thoroughly recommend them and the Busters offer is pretty cheap. Get yourself a few sets at that price.

When you say wet/damp/virtually dry you mean on track right? Problem is, this is a commuter, lol - that's my dilemma! It's just ?110 for a pair....damn that's cheap!

yeah but you said you wanted to use on track also right?
I see no reason why they would work any worse on the road apart from the usual Diesel spills you come across.

Yeah I do want to use them on track as well. I haven't been on a track day before though - just Nurburgring once - so ideally I wanted road bias not track bias. If they're good enough for the commute I can just do that I guess. Just concerned about those cold winter days like we've just come (almost) through!
I don't really ride very hard (even for a winter commute) anyway, I tend to use it to chill out on the way to/from work rather than trying to max out, get a lot of people coming past me on the straights, etc. Only really get going while in traffic (filtering) I guess - although then that poses the question of will I get them warm enough?!

They are also doing the Michelin Pilot Sports on offer as well. They are stonking tyres as well. Just to throw a spanner in the works :)

I saw that actually, ?120 was it? Something like that. However I got confused with Pilot Sports and Pilot Powers :( I do know that those dual-compound 2CTs were very highly rated (before the recall last year!) and I wanted those. I think those were Pilot Powers though.
Anyone care to explain the Michelin range to me? :p

I think you mean the Pilot Roads 2? The dual compound sports touring rubber.

Is that dual compound - I thought it was just the 2CTs? Either way - using this Ebay seller to indicate what I'm referring to: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/RoundAndBlack_Motorcycle-Tyres_Michelin_W0QQcolZ2QQdirZ1QQfsubZ9QQftidZ2QQt Zkm
I thought the highly rated ones were the Pilot Power 2CT (it's the only one in this list with 2CT? Dunno if he's missed more out?), i.e. this one http://stores.ebay.co.uk/RoundAndBlack_Motorcycle-Tyres_Michelin_Pilot-Power-2CT_W0QQcolZ2QQdirZ1QQfsubZ6511110QQftidZ2QQtZkm
The Pilot Road 2's aren't a 'CT' version?

On the Michelin web site they do refer to the Pilot Road 2's as 'using MotoGP 2CT technology" whatever that means...
Again on the Michelin web site - here: http://two-wheels.michelin.com/2w/front/affich.jsp?codeRubrique=2092004103747&lang=EN - it gives some ratings on the tyres, (click on one of the 3 tyre pics at the bottom) but the things that are rated for the Pilot Power/Pilot Sport differ from those of the Pilot Road - confusing me even more!

The pilot power is a sporty road/track tyre.(probably comparable to a more modern BT014)
The pilot road 2 is sports touring.(similar to the BT021)
Both are dual compound.

But the Michelins on Busters are the old single compound ones, but still of the sporty variety.
I believe Plowsie et al have given them a go, see here:

reckon you'll do just fine on those 208RR's. Only unknown that I cant vouch for is outright mileage but for that price I'ld still buy a van load.

I may just try it then. Mileage probably not an issue. :) I can always buy them and ponder it for a while, the tyres on the CBR at the moment (Avon Vipers?) have enough tread, but they've felt a little iffy (to my mate as well) hence the desire to change (before I go on track).
