Ok here is the situation,I hope to get another bike in the near future,I have wrote off my bike and I am awaiting the cheque from the insurance company KGM tru Express. The policy was till July 07.But now someone has said to me that that policy will be no more that I have made a claim off it! Is this true? I dont want to phone them till I see what my best course of action is. Do I wait till I get another bike and just ring to transfer the policy and see what happens or what.:smt100

If it's a write off they may cancel your policy yeah. Bit sneaky given you have paid for insurance for a year, but it's often there. It'll be down the to the underwriter - KGM - so you'll need to contact Express or KGM to find out.

Btw did you mean the policy ran until July 08? Since if it was July 07 it's already run out whatever?

Check the small print of your policy. Its quite likely it will say the policy is void if you have a claim/write off. After all you are insuring your bike in case of it becoming damaged and after they have paid for its replacement, why would they cover it a second time?

i was told by my insurance that my policy had now ceased because the bike was a total loss.
It wont do any harm to give them a call, thay should put you in the picture :)

Once the cheque arrives, have a look at the cover note with it for something like "full and final settlement with regard to any outstanding obligation under this policy", typically that means it's cancelled.
