ha- for the serious answers thanks.. !!..

a couple of people - who's opinions i do rate highly- not decrying any here- have said no to the white hugger too..

tbh the big block thats down there seems to keep the shock clean and my OCD will prob do the rest.

I think the white *might* work cos the bodywork of the bike near there is white, but it's a bit risky. I reckon spray it the same blue as the bodywork (tank) and black mesh. The frame, swingarm and wheels are all black so silver mesh would stand out too much...

Also - no rim tape ;)

I think the hugger would be better in black... But white should be ok I guess.

My bike came with rim tape. Look ok from afar but get close and it look pretty ****.

Can only use a black hugger to, 1) blend with the tyre & 2) match the front mudguard IMO
Unfortunately any rim tape is going to be chav.
+1 get a tail tidy

Pointy thing + plastic pointy thing = :smt023 white, or black, shouldn't matter

Rim tape + pointy thing = :smt087:nomore:

Looks nice mate, 2 too many cylinders for my liking tho ;)

I'm no good with these things. There's a very good reason why I buy all my shirt and ties for work in a matched shirt and tie set, then hang the tie in the wardrobe on the same hanger as the shirt it was bought with! My job is in IT, I let the clothing design experts do the colour coding!

I'd buy black, but only 'cos I would be worried he white would look chav. I'ts one or he other isn't it, white will either look look  or it'll look :smt112

But anyway, if it helps here's a picture of my cousins celebration edition Bandit which is in a similar Suzuki colour scheme and has a white hugger.

Looking at the two bikes together this Bandit

has white wheels and a white belly pan. The lower half of your bike is prodominantly black, so I'd stick with the black hugger.

-Ralph-
22-03-08, 09:02 AM
Forget it, the lower half of the fairing is white and the lines lead diagonally up from this into the white tail. The white hugger would point in the same direction and sit right in the middle. So it might actually look OK.

What did I say about those shirt and ties? So no conclusion from me, but at least you can't say I didn't think about it.

Rim tape.................NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOO!

Tail tidy.....................would give a much neater back end. The bike I mean, not yours!:D

no to white hugger

IMO rim tape can look good - but in 90% of cases doesn't! if you're not feeling lucky then give it a miss...

Give it two or three months and you'll be wanting more power and start tuning the GSXR. They react well to tuning just like the SV!

Buy this to keep your options open - wonderfull thing about bidding on ebay is you know you can sell again for similar money.
At leasst you will be able to fit it & see what it's like or paint it Black - shouldn't be too visible so you could have a go yerself.

Oh & I'm 4hrs behind ;) how are you this morning?

Fizz - could you be helpul & post up a piccy of yours?

Quiff Wichard
23-03-08, 01:03 PM
you know I am STILL erring to the white- look at my bike it has a lot of white at the back..

sowwee to all who say no

however the e bay bid has now reached ?35 stilla good price but .. smeone keeps outbidding me with zero feedback!.. a friend of the seller maybe and I get a second chance offer. ! ??? hmm

dizzyblonde
23-03-08, 01:22 PM

Oh & you need to learn to just snipe auctions on ebay;)

Quiff Wichard
23-03-08, 10:00 PM
well its over- the e bay sale ended. I lost. so fate eh ..

i did set a snipe - ta for the headsup stu

and it went for £4 over my limit-

but hey u have to set a limit

some folks get caught up in auctions and eos and pay more on e bay than brand new from a retailer !??..

and I missed one for £30 in black on gixxer junkies.

maybe I dont need one..
its got quite a good guard there as it is !

fizzwheel
23-03-08, 10:01 PM
Yeah the shock is quite covered by the swingarm, but by good if you fit a tailtidy does the hugger keep the cack off the rear of the bike, otherwise it sprays everywhere...

Quiff Wichard
23-03-08, 10:33 PM
aha

well i went to the powerbronze site..

white with silver mesh is £105. ! (dam i shud have bid higher on e bay ! ) .. mind u i get a guarantee i suppose..

black with silver mesh is £95

lots of dosh but if it saves me shock.. I mean i gonna keep this bike a couple of years at least- plus no woman to stop me spending.

then i lookin at iridium blue screen double bubble - or a dark tint.! . hmm. dems £59

no dont ruin yer bank hols mate ..

i think this is the one i want
i shudda bid higher. !

i jsut wary how i get caught up in spendin bits here and there and before u know it £500 quid has gone. ,,

but like I say its a neccessary thing I think .. looks good too.. and if it saves all the fling.. then ace..

i know sensible says black with silver mesh .. but I wanna be different there is a lot of white low and at rear of my bike and it might flow.
but we had this convo lol and lots folk said no to white on here

but u know me ! mr bling !!

Fizz: Does that tail tidy come with a number plate light? My new bike has those brake/indicator lights and no num plate light so I need to get it sorted. (Sorry for the derail) :)

I'd go for a black hugger as it'll match the frame,wheel & tyre ;)

fizzwheel
24-03-08, 02:25 PM
Nah it doesnt come with one, but with the R & G one for my bike, you take the OEM number plate light off and bolt it onto the tail tidy, it has no space for a reflector though, but when it comes to MOT time I'm going to stick a reflector onto the standard size plate.

Stick it a bit of double side tape when you get there, then take it off as you leave thats what I do.

shame about the chicken wire on either side of the hugger - thats just pointless & will allow sh1te to be splased all over your swingarm. other than that i think it looks ok
