So I am about to go and meet a friend and on my bike (not for a bike ride) and it has just started snowing! I have no other form of transport cause my girlfriend has just nicked my car.

Qustion is - do you think i should cancel my plans? I dont mind riding whilst it is snowing, but if it settles that could get a bit more interesting!

Hmm - have more faith in the bike. Think I might chance it - haven't yet gained any snow riding experience so there is a first for everything!

I did snow riding on my 125 and the day I picked up my SV650. I would do it on my Hornet too. Should be fine, just be smooth with throttle and brakes. Good luck.

I rode cambridge to worcester on sunday morning - there was about 2" of snow on the bike and the road in cambridge, but not so much in worcester. the main roads were all clear so not too bad really, but F'n cold!!! i had 2 jumpers and my jacket on. couldn't feel my fingers at all when i arrived. Some days I wish i still had a car.

so long as the snow hasn't frozen its fine. glad to hear you are still alive John, it aint that bad really is it.

I don't see a problem with riding in the snow. Makes it more fun.

Check the pic out and you will see a L-plate biker in the snow (taken last year in Oxford). About 1hr after taking the pic a bin lorry saved me after ditching my car slightly.

It was a rare occaision when I got on the bike, went out in bootiful sunshine, 10 mins later it looked like the world was gonna end.
