View Full Version : Clutch cable question...
Hello all,
Having wasted the best part of this weekend fitting an ABM top yoke conversion onto my K6S, I have noticed that the clutch cable is now a tad too short. In order to make it fit (poorly), I have to bend it behind the forks, which is not good :smt088.
My question is this:
Is the clutch cable from an unfaired SV longer than that on the faired version? If not, is there anywhere I can get an extended length clutch cable which would allow me to route it properly without getting kinked (so to speak)? I have looked online, but am not a master Googler, and as such can find nothing of use.
Cheers,
Mike

Yes , it's longer.
Edit: Make sure who ever you are getting from, doesn't make a mistake and orders the wrong one. It's a bit annoying arriving(receiving by post) to pick up your new cable only to find out, they ordered the same one you were about to change lol

But it is only very slightly longer. What it does have is a much sharper bend away from the clutch lever which allows you to route it differently.

Yes it is a tad longer and it is what you need to fit this conversion.

what length of cable do you need. i have a spare on here that is way to long for my sv650s i can do it at a good price if its the right length. PM me if you are interested
Thanks all for your help, I will try and get hold of a cable from an unfaired bike. Andy, I have Pm'd you :).
I'll let you know if it works - I imagine a few people on here have the same mod done. Will try and post pics if it works out.
While we're at it, is the clutch cable the same on the '99 models to present?
Cheers all :smt023,
Mike
