Well, after 9 months of trouble free riding I managed to lose the front end whilst turning left off a main road. 30 seconds previous I'd thought "oh it's just started spitting, I'll get home now... only take a few mins"... then bosh, a bit of damp caught me out and I was sliding across the tarmac at about 15-20mph...
Picked myself up, looked for other traffic, checked myself and then attended to the bike. None of the major parts are damaged. All the usual stuff, left indicator, left bar end, left foot peg, left gear changer, and a massive gash on the pillion grab handle. Tank, forks, frame, engine, screen, rest of body work all totally damage free.
Hein Gericke leathers aren't even damaged, just a bit dusty. The gloves have a bit of wear on the knuckle armour. Boots fine, helmet didnt even touch the ground. Very lucky really...
now then, where do I get the spare bits from?

At least you are alright, thats the main thing. Try the following, but search Ebay (http://www.ebay.co.uk) first for any bargains...
SV Spares (http://www.svspares.com/)
Wemoto (http://www.wemoto.com/)
Alpha Sports (http://www.alpha-sports.com/suzuki_parts.htm)

No probs, there are 4 Pointy Indicators (http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=SV650+indicator) on Ebay at the moment. Noticed them earlier whilst searching through it all!
Grab Handle (http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll?sofocus=bs&sbrftog=1&dfsp=1&from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=SV650+grab+handle&sacat=-1%26catref%3DC6&a6=-24&a39=-24&a39702=-24&a10244=-24&alist=a6%2Ca42078%2Ca39%2Ca41%2Ca39702%2Ca10244&pfmode=1&reqtype=1&gcs=2364&pfid=3480&pf_query=SV650+grab+handle&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D3&sadis=200&fpos=SN15+4AP&sabfmts=1&ga10244=10425&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=&fsop=1%26fsoo%3D1&coaction=compare&copagenum=1&coentrypage=search)

Glad to hear you're okay, mate. All the places for spares I can think of have all ready been mentioned - no need to repeat them! How'd you edit those photos and put the arrows on it, by the way?

Now I hate to say it, but I love the photoshop skills! I think every bike accident should have that as a debrief haha. Anyway, glad it was only little. Everyone comes off once in a while, glad you are ok and and bike is certainly fixable!
Paul, do you take pillion? If not dont bother with a grab rail, just get a rear cowl and leave it off. You can easily move the bike around by holding onto the riders seat.

funnily enough the missus was kitted out with gear to go pillion jsut last month but she's only been on once and had a car crash her self, so it'll be a while before she gets on. I've got a cowl and spacer thingy for the time being anyway :) thanks for the advice though :)

Glad to hear your ok man! Gr33k shakes his fist at the weather!
left gear changer, I suppose this is apose to the right or the middle one :smt064
This is the type of off, that if you HAD to have one, you'd want it like this one. I'm amazed the plastics and tank were unscathed. No R&Gs either.
Plus you're uninjured and your kit's okay. Result I'd say.

You wanna shake it a bit harder mate? Forecast in Manchester is wet, wet, wet for the next week :fish:

that thought has run through my mind about 12 times so far. No major damage to the bike, no damage at all to me or my kit. No one else involved. Low speed. Pretty much a perfect way of realising just how easy it is to come off.
Funny thing is, I've got the r&g's in the garage waiting to go on when me and luke fit the lower fairings.
