Holiday entitlement

Has anyone come across the situation whereby they start a new job however they already have a holiday booked.

I am told they must honor it, what is the legality behind it, is it the law that they must honor it?

I've just started a new job and have a day booked off in my first week :oops:

I just let them know before I even started and was told it was fine.

I wouldn't have thought they were legally obliged to honour it, is there a specific reason why you think they wouldn't?

Did you mention it at interview? I think that if they knew about it before they offered you the job they must honour it, not sure about if you didn't tell them.

Oh cool, they should be fairly flexible as long as you don't want time within the first few weeks.
